For full features; Go to please help, petrol cap broken, what to do!?
Hi,
we have a Ford Escort, circa 1990. The key just broke in the petrol cap -
the cap lock is broken.
What should/can I do?!
Can we drive without a proper cap?
Where can I get a new one? Do you think the old one can be repaired (the
lock seems damaged).
Many Thanks,
benu
You can buy a replacement cap, beit a temperary cap that just pushes on, or
a permenant cap that pushes on and twists to tighten. Or you could get a
standard replacement with another key from a main dealer. I'm assuming the
broken key is a seperate key to the ignition? which would mean that the
above advice is valid!
