hello folks,
Recently, my girlfriend and I were driving home from work in her ford
escort and the lights went out and the car died.. We managed to pull over,
but hit something while pulling off road that scraped under the car. We
replaced the alternator, and the electrical problems are gone, but now
there is a weird squeek/knock sound that the car makes when the clutch is
let in. Once the car is put in gear, the sound goes away.
Any ideas what this could be? It makes me imagine a spinning wheel that is
bent and squeeking against a metal contact.. or the kind of knocking an old
lawnmower might make.. or an unbalanced washing machine..
Any and all thoughts suggestions are highly appreciated..
