one of two thing check the auto shut down relay then check for power at the smec you replaced the smec with a know good one or new one use a test light if you have to but i would prefer a muti meter set to volts and check the smec plug for power and ground consult a wiring diagram from a manual for you car either you have no power or bad ground for the smec

where do i find the auto shut down relay. and thanks for ur advice ill give it a try

should be a power center under the hood near the battery if you have power at the relay you will probably find there's no power or bad ground at the smec

what does the relay switch look like. im not an expert and i dont know much about this car

the panel should be marked asd or autoshut down the relay is 1 to1 1/2 "square black box with 4 to 5 blade terminals

i am getting power to that

ok then the smec is not getting power or has a bad ground you need to check for this sound more like the smec is not powering up to activate the fuel pump and ignition system

how do i check the ground on the smec??? and how do i check to see if its getting power???

at the asd relay did you get power to one or two terminals(key on)if its only one terminal the other curcuit is not powered. do you or can you get a manual for your car with wireing diagram

i got power to 2 termanals. and i have a manual for the car with wirering diagrams. and do you have a yahoo or aim screen name i can talk to you about this on???

sorry no i dont does the relay click with key on the relay supplies power to the fuel pump/injectors/ignition coil the smec provides the ground for the injectors/coil check for power at the coil with key on

posted by  osborste

no it does not click when the key is on

make a jumper wire find the dark green wire with black stipe and run power to it this will active the fuel pump and ignition the relay might be bad

ok thank you. i will try that and see if it works. thanks again

ok i ran a jumper wire and im still not getting any fuel. and im not sure if im getting spark because im here by myself and i cant check that by myself.
but im still not getting fuel

this is the diagram i have for your car

could you tell me what im lookin for. im not exactly sure how to read the diagram

autoshut down relay. wiring that jumper wire to the dark green wire should have at least activated the fuel pump and ignition coil. the two power terminals at the relay indicate you have power from battery and at least power on the dark blue/yellow stripe wire from the smec if you can't hear the fuel pump with the jumper wire then you need to check the wire's at the pump if you don't get spark then you need to check the power and ground wires at the smec. i hope your not getting in over your head with this

posted by  osborste

yea i hope not either. i have power to the coil and i can hear something running when i turn the key but im not gettin any fuel pressure. and i run the jumper wire from the battery to the dark green and black wire right

any leaks? check the gas line disconnect it at the engine get a can a see if it pumps fuel then we can get back to the electrical

posted by  osborste

i have tried to see if it will pump into a can. ive even used an electic fuel pump to try to pull it through and it wont. which gas line is the infeed. the one goin into the regulator of the one going straight into the fuel rail???

posted by  ash72eagles

the main fuel line should be the larger of the two the one straight in

posted by  osborste

ok thats what i thought. but its not pumping fuel. i cant even pull it through with another pump. is it possible for the line to be blocked

posted by  ash72eagles

i've seen fuel pump pick up screen's get plugged or the little rubber joining hose for pump to line in the tank split then you get no fuel that sound like your next step if your not getting fuel in the line as for trying to draw fuel through the pump it may not work if the line is off the pump or screen is plugged
