Speedometer broke and rpms racing Ford Taurus
Was just driving along today, and had to slow down because of traffic in
front of me. Honestly, I looked down and the speedometer was hovering at 0
mph, and not really moving anywhere. Then, at the same time as I'm
driving, the rpms are racing at like 3 and 4 when I know I was only going
25-30 mph. Pulled the car over, and waited a few minutes. Turned back
onto the road, and same thing happened. Just drove home, and I"m so upset.
Just last week I had two new tires put on, and had the car aligned. It
was driving perfect. Anyone, have any idea what this issue could be. BTW,
the car wasn't overheating.
what year is it?
It is a 1999 Ford Taurus SE
Do you mean that you could hear the engine revving up real high? Or is it just the guages that are doing it?
If it was just the speedometer that stopped working id guess it could be a fuse or something but thats weird about the RPM guage.... as long as it wasnt the engine actually reving too...?
