OMFG - FINALLY a 2dr Charger, named: Challenger
Just noticed this as I Was stopping by autoweek today...
Damn, FINALLY a nice looking modern muscle car from Dodge (that's affordable, sorry Viper guys) that isnt just a 300C with new body cladding/wheel/retuned suspension. It IS based on the 300 platform but a much shorter version of it. Obviously, I think most people will agree this thing looks worlds better than the 4 door Charger :hi:
Dodge will show it at the 2006 Detriot Auto Show. Now THAT'S bringing back a classic (Dodge finally did it!), and is definatley on terms with the new retro Mustang. But it looks WAY better IMO.
Yeah, that's the Challenger concept thay've been talking about.
Noit just retro, it's a virtual clone of the old Challenger...
I know, and that's what the people want, looks very sexy on the modern wheels! Heck, you wont even have to buy the classic now, the new model, looks so damn close, but now you get all the "future" accessories.
looks nice, but there's something about it I don't like....
I guess the same way I don't like all those Chrysler concepts from the mid-late 90's, there's just something about them I find unattractive. Of course, the production version wouldn't look exactly the same. I hope they make it!
Check out some of the pictures on this link (more near the bottom) http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.creatingthelie.com/auto_ga llery/mopar/images/new_phantasm_cuda_front.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.creatin gthelie.com/auto_gallery/mopar/images/&h=500&w=750&sz=137&tbnid=rCQxXyEmQew J:&tbnh=93&tbnw=140&hl=en&start=27&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcharger%2Bfront%26sta rt%3D20%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN, didnt believe the Challenger would look like that but going by the pics you posted, it will. I hope they produce it and make it as close to (if not the exact same as) the pics you posted, I love the look (always liked the old Challengers).
those look a helluva lot better than the gto or the mustang. good job chrysler
She's beautiful...even compared to the 4 door charger:drool::drool:...Can't wait until the Detroit Auto Show for another reason then :hi:
errrr - anyone got some kleenex...it's kinda hard to see the screen..
****ING AWESOME HOLY ****ITY **** I WANT ONE **** **** ****!
ahem. Yes, the two door Challenger. Sweet sexy lines, without completely bastarding the old version. One could only hope that they will be stuffing the 6.1L V8 HEMI into that machine. I can not wait until it is formally announced, as well as specifications. This thing had bloody well better be RWD.
That is beautiful.
speaking of beautiful, how's your project coming along?! we're dying for updates man!
IT will have to be RWD since it's loosely based off the 300 platform, hell they might could even offer AWD! Although, I doubt it
It's very sexy , but what I'm afraid of is if Chrysler does the same thing with this as did with the Charger, that by production time, it will gain in size with two more doors.
now that looks bad ass
I don't think the redone charger was ever supposed to be a two door for original production....
man it sucks that we have to worry about if its even going to be rwd or have 2 or 4 doors. :banghead: :banghead:
Might as well post all of what the site had said.
The Charger had been shown with 4 doors way before being produced. While I
wish this was the product that got produced, it WAS a 4 door, way back in
Remember, the Charger was the Dodge version of the LX cars, and was in fact, the development of the Intrepid. It was ALWAYS supposed to have 4 doors.
Wow, they really screwed up the Charger from the concept (concept looks real nice compared to the doctored 300 we got), lets hope the Challenger stays the course.
I don't have time right now. I should be back on it after christmas. I havnt touched it since july when I assembled the short block I believe.
It's too retro, I want something more, curvy.
Are you nuts? The Charger lost points because it detracted too much from
the original. And if you haven't noticed, the trend for todays "muscle"
cars is to be more agressive styled. The only "curvy" cars are "sport"
IMO I would marry one....lmao, but seriously, it's a sweet and sexy looking car.
Look who you're trying to talk too...
The same guy that just bought a Cobalt but suddenly got $30k to spend on AMG Benz's...
haha, good point!
Looks pretty nice. I was thinking Chrysler was going to do something like this after the Charger came out.
