No, far from it. The LS1 is the engine used in the Trans Am. Its a V8.

You can't go wrong with an exhaust system and a Cold Air Intake or CAI  Auto or Manual?

http://3800performance.com/

That site has LOADS of performance parts just for the 3.8L V6.

Including a nasty turbo kit, which is they I'd go

Their $2999 turbo kit takes the 3.8L 200hp V6 from 200hp to 350hp.

Talk about a Mustang eater.

Don't count on it slim. A lot more than HP plays into it.

Exactly, a Cobra would waste it, let alone I think a 99-04 GT would take it down.

Did I mention the 400tq too?

A GT or Mach One wouldn't stand a chance.

The 03-04 Cobra though, well, that's another story.

They had a supercharged (FWD) GTP converted to turbo with that exact kit and ran 12.80s (only option on the kit they had was the upgraded $349 extra PC-61 turbo) and the only mods other than turbo kit were 1.9:1 Rocker Arms and a cat-back exhaust. No slicks... So imagine a 3.8 Camaro making the SAME power figure, but with RWD. It should run AT LEAST low 13s. Which absolutely turns on the burners to a GT or Mach.

BTW - I'm far from slim (260lbs).
