I have a 99 Grand Am GT 3.4L V6
Anyways I was driving down the highway and hit this smooth bump that made my car bounce a bit...as my car came down it made this noise like it bottomed out or metal snapping... Anyways I took a look at my front end and I can clearly see that the driverside is sitting about 1-2 inches lower then the passenger side...
Is this a sign of a bad strut?
metal snapping ?? check for a broken coil spring this is what supports the weight of the car the strut only controls the jounce and rebound of the spring
Sounds like a broken spring for sure. Although this can be DIY, I would probably take it a mechanic. This can be dangerous if improperly done.
So can taking a dump, but everybody still does it. It's a simple enough job to do with a little patience, a manual and one special tool.
Taking a dump or replacing a spring?
