My friend asked me if I wanted his 1988 Ford Ranger. It has a v6 5spd manual. I'm not sure exactly how many but it has at least over 120,000 miles on it. i looked up info on it and found out it has only 140hp. is there anyway i could swap a v8 in there and how much would it probably cost? thanks.

Free is nice. But if he wants payment get yourself a late 80's Silverado. My buds got one...pretty nice and powerful. You can find em for 1000-3000 bucks

V8 conversions are done all the time with Rangers. As for cost, that all depends on how much work you can do on your own, how you shop and what you want your final product to be like. You could easily spend $10k doing the swap, or like the last one my son and I did, spend about $700 complete including the price of the truck.

Did you give any thought to that response before typing it? He asked nothing about a Chevy or your opinion on them. How exactly does this pertain to his question about the Ranger?
