Ford introduced its new 2009 FLEX at the New York Auto Show this week.
Overall, the press is really impressed with this car, and I personally like
the details. This could prove to be the most significant NA Ford model
(except for Mustang) unveiled in the past 10 years or so. I was wondering
what you guys thought...

The 2009 Ford Flex is a six or seven passenger crossover that can be configured with either a 2nd row bench or bucket seats. A refrigerator-console can be optioned for between the buckets. The engine will be Ford's new Duratec 35, so expect horsepower around 260 or so, and it will be hooked up to the 6 speed automatic. Details include two-tone roof, brushed metal in the rear end, carved streaks down the sides, and the capless fuel filler system which will eventually be standard on all Ford vehicles. Interior features include the aforementioned refrigerated-console, ambient lighting which can be set to many different colors, 2nd row footrests, individual skylights for each row, Ford Sync system which incorporates communications and entertainment such as phone and MP3 into the car, and an exquisitely finished interior.
to me, that looks a little like a cross between the Mini and the Range Rover with big silver slates and a ford badge!
I'm not sure if I like the styling, but it's not too bad. Not really for me, but it seems like a good idea.
Exactly what I thought when I first saw the pics, lol.
(sorry about the spinach can)
see what i mean???
I see what you mean, but I was seeing the Flex looking like the MINI in its profile and vice versa.....rather than seeing the resemblance between the MINI and the Range Rover, lol....
reminds me of a pimped out short bus :2cents:
I saw that when I went to the Auto Show but didn't take any pics of it for
How did it look in person? just curious.
It reminded me of a range rover. Similar dimensions.
They put it on a stage so I couldn't sit in it or anything.
