Help with Possible Passlock System problem
Help with Possible Passlock System problem
I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, I believe that my passlock system was
engaged and now my car will not kick over.. You can start it for a few secs
by jumping the starter, but it shut off quickly. I tried to put the key
into the ignition for 10 mins and that did not work. I checked all the
fuses and fusible links. I even unconnect the battery to see if it resets
itself. None of this seem to work, Is there a way to reset the passlock
system or disengage it all together if the car is not running at all???
Please help me out here... Thanks
You are correct: Passlock is not supposed to fail while the car is running.
That is the secret behind bridging the system - with the car running, one
cuts the wire and installs the toggle.
You probably need to report this problem to a dealership and, if there is
no satisfaction there for a reasonable price or for free as a recall,
contact the NTSB Battery . Losing all power while you're on an interstate
definitely is a safety problem.
Good Luck!!
