I have a weird feeling that a lot of u have seen the movie Joe Dirt. My
question is, wtf is that piece of crap car he gets from the impound lot.
Some one told me what is was a while ago but I forgot and I can't figure
out what it is.
Hey man u done with that apple core? :orglaugh:
well there is 2 cars one is a 1970<---i think Dodge Daytona Charger thats the junky beat up one and the orange one is a 1968? hemi road runner both beautiful cars the daytona charger is the equivilent of the Superbird used plymouth had the super bird dodge had the daytona charger hope that helps!
it looks like a plymouth gtx. not 100% sure. might be an old monte carlo
it could definantly be a GTX its not a monticarlo its a mopar cuz it had the "hemi" but the GTX could be it to the roadrunner and gtx are same cars gtx is dodge and the roadrunner is plymouth i believe
yeah it could be. because most plymouth gtx had hemi and were 455's so you never know. there pretty nice cars if its fully restored..
Really, a Monte Carlo. Yeah they look so much like old Mopars it's easy to
Hey twinkie, what year did Mopar make a 455 Hemi... Or any type of 455 for that matter? Oh wait a minute, my mistake, you're that stupid f*cker aren't you? YES YOU ARE.
stupid... stupid... stupid.. please show me where it said the monte carlo had a 455? huh dumbass it says the gtx plymouth has a 455 damn your so stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cussing:
Let me start by quoting you. "stupid... stupid... stupid.." That is
obviously your first, middle and last names. Pull your head out of your
ass long enough to read the post you're refering to. I never said that you
said the Monte Carlo had a 455, did I? No I didn't you worthless little
moron. I did however ask when Mopar made a 455. That after all is who
made the GTX. Of course you already knew that so I'm sure you're going to
tell us it was your little brother who posted that.
You have nothing at all to add to these forums. You are a dumbass little f*cker, please go away.
geeze everyone watch the movie, if you listen the thing has a hemi so theres no ****in way its a montecarlo is either a roadrunner or gtx
i think i might be able to help.. i dont know it seems like yall are always
getting mad at each other when you get somehting wrong but heres some pics
of gtx and roadrunner.. as you can see it's most likely a roadrunner..
Chrysler Corporation was the first in 1951 the build the V-8 with Hemi Heads!
Daytona :hi: :hi: :hi:
http://www.allpar.com/history/movies.html scroll down to the J section its a gtx and a dodge daytona!
The car is a 69 Dodge Charger. It is a 440 auto car which began life as a 318. It was being converted into a Superbird clone until David Spade got a hold of it for the movie. It has a Landy built 440 in it. Under the hood is Plum Crazy and very clean detailed. It had a white interior in it but the movie people removed some it for the movie. The car was artifically aged. The chrome was replated and the Cragars were new. How do I know this? My friend Robbie owns the car. I must say, "the car suits him well".
Thats like stupid crazy. I want that to be my clame to fame.
"My car was used in a cult classic"... anyone making a movie here want to use my Fiero?
My car was used in one of the last episodes of Max Headroom to be filmed in
And it was a Daytona replica, too (just of a different Daytona... )
Honestly to me it looks like a 69 ish roadrunner gtx. If it infact has a hemi, there is no way that it is a monte carlo, a chevy product, with a mopar engine.
That "Piece Of Crap" is something that a lot of people can only dream to
own. It is a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. You can tell its the 1969 Daytona
cause of the tail lights that are the same as the 1969 Charger. The 'Winged
Warriors' were and still are beautiful cars.
The Daytona (based on the Charger) looked like this from behind:
And the Superbird (based on the Roadrunner) looked like this from behind:
.....Are you serious? Dude, thats not a GTX, its supposed to be a Plymouth Superbird, and 455ci engines were made by Pontiac. Get your facts straight.
The yellow beaten up car was a Plymouth Superbird (AKA Dodge Daytona) and the orange car was a Plymouth GTX. Both awesome cars.
There wasnt really a difference between the Superbird and the Daytona but there was enough that they were considered two different cars. You can tell that the attachment photo he has (first post) of the yellow 'beater' is a Daytona and not a Superbird. The attachment pic has the Charger tail lights which shows its a Daytona. I dont know about the orange car cause i havent seen a pic or the movie in a while.
Here is the pic he posted, notice the back lights:
Here is a pic i posted (of a Superbird). Notice the back lights are different from the pic above:
EDIT: Or better yet, visit this site, it tells you what both cars were. It was a 1969 Daytona and a 1967 GTX.
its already been said but the cars are a 69 charger daytona and a 67 hemi
the roadrunner and gtx shared the same body with a few cosmetic differences ..i believe the RR was introduced in 68 but i could be wrong there....there also was the satelite which was basically a stripped down roadrunner but looked about the same
Basically, to me, if a car shares the same platform as another (as you mentioned) then I would consider it the same car. But if you were to look at the body they arent, I prefer the Superbirds styling to the Daytonas.
Haha you are right though, its not really wrong to consider them the same. And i agree, i like the Superbird a little better but when it comes to them being 'wingless' and 'noseless' i'd go with the Charger.
