I have been looking into 78-79 firebird and i've seen them on ebay for about 3-6 thousand and i was wondering if that was a reasonable price.

That seems reasonable to me. Be very very carful when buying a car off ebay. There are many horror stories, I have first hand knowledge of one. One of our customers bought a 73 charger (a beautiful looking car) off ebay. to make a long story short there was so much hidden rust that we ended up buying a whole new body. We have seen some really good deals come from ebay, but when you get a bad one.....you have wasted all your money...click the links below to see what we found--------

was that car "clipped"?

No, it looked like it was a northern car. The upper and lower cowl, firewall, front floor pans, and rear frame rails would have been expensive to repair. I actually concidered just replacing the front clip until I discovered the rust in the rear frame rails. We found a "rust free" (I use the term loosely) body and plan to swap all the "good" parts over to it, much cheaper than repairing the rust. As an added bonus the new car is a hardtop and the yellow one was a post. So he will end up with a better car anyways.

Hey Dodger, maybe you can answer a question for me:

"Will a bumper with hide-away headlights from a 71 fit in this 73 charger?"--It looks like it should...confirmation would be nice before we buy it.

Anyone wanna buy a yellow 73 dodge charger (really cheap)?

as far as i know, it should. there's a little spacing difference betw/ the 71-72's and the 73-74's, so get the brackets and all.

btw, it's not nice to dangle a 71-74 charger right in front of me like that... :wink2:

What kinda shape are you looking for? Driveable, project, etc? You can get 79's for less the you can get most 78's. 1979 was the first year they changed their front end (square headlights) and they seem to be less desirable then the '78. Also, would you be wanting hard top or t-top? Theres a few different options that will help determine a reasonable price.

look for a smokey and the bandit edition

what is special about them, i can't find any.

Not sure but check out this link: http://www.hitmantransam.com/banditedition.htm

all it is was a black and gold trans am with t tops and the gold rims. there wasnt anything too special about them it was just a paint scheme. and as you might have guessed the same paint scheme from the movie smokey and the bandit. its basicly a trans am with special paint. there usualy not more expensive because most of the firebirds sold that year were either trans ams or the smokey and the bandit editions

where are some other good websites that sell classic muscle cars?

posted by  baseballfreak

It depends on where abouts you want the cars to be located. If you dont care how far theyare away from where your located, you can always use Google and check for classic/muscle car classifieds. Sometimes even Autotrader will have good deals.

Well about a week ago i found a nice 1977 Trans Am for $1,200 CAN (cause i'm in Canada). It was complete, Black on black with a/c (working) and a 400 and auto trans. By the time i saw it, it was sold lol. But they do get some good deals on there.
