What do you think is the coolest muscle car? tell me about it.
I would have to say the coolest muscle car that was stock (in my personal
opinion) was the 1969 Mustang Boss 302 w/ the shaker hood. It was fast, it
was good around the curves, and it was nice to look at it. Producing
almost 1 hp for every cubic inch, it was quicker in the short run that it's
bigger brethren, the Boss 429.
I would have said the Boss 429 was the best, but it just wasn't powerful enough for it's size. That is until someone got an aftermarket cam and heads to help it release it's pent up horsepower. Then it could compete with even the best Mopars in the day.
my sig, of course
Well, I am hard pressed to choose between a Shelby GT500, COBRA 427S/C, Dodge Viper, or a Hemi Challenger :banghead: . However, the decision was made cuz a 1992-2002 Dodge Viper RT/10, GTS, GTS-R, any hennessy venom, stryker viper, GT2, (had enuf alphabet soup yet? thought so  ) this is the one single car, if i could only have one car, I'd pick up a Viper. :smoke:
Shelby Mustang GT500, absolutely gorgeous!!
p.s. yet, another great poll by MOPAR!
I think the coolest muscle car is the '68 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 KR. That is one hell of a car!
1970 Hemi Cuda
Or a '69 Camaro Z-28
Has to be the 1970 Buick GSX. 455, sleek looks, need I say more?
The camaro was never intended to be a muscle car, but rather a pony car like the Mustang.
Also forgot to mention the Viper is a sports roadster, not a muscle car.
I've got to put my vote down for the 1969 Dodge Charger RT/SE. That may not be the best choice for complete speed and handling but it is the car that I would prefer to drive around. :smoke:
Go with 1967 Camaro Z28. Much better looking.
However, my favorite is the 1969 Camaro RS\SS with the LS-6 engine package.
ohh thats an eleanor. beautiful car :-)
i would rather have one of those than a Ferarri  they sexier, look muscular lol and you can show off more aswell! damn i would die for one of those!!
Yea! That Car does it 4 me! Thank you :smoke: i think thats the car from gone in 60 seconds n its just beautyiful! everything on it is!
It's a little late, but here are the last of the 71' Hemi 'Cudas.
The green is an original, the yellow convertible is a clone based on a '69 Barracuda:
The Viper is up there but nothing beats the oldschool muscle cars like the Charger's, Cuda's, Fury's, etc. On this one I had to go with the Charger because thats the first actual muscle car I ever really learned anything about.
Well I find this quite the dilema. I am a MOPAR man, no doubting that. I
love the 1968 Dodge Cherger 440 RT (Dukes of Hazzard Baby) That is always
My fav. But for this poll I had to choose the 1967-1968 GTO, I mean the
poll was about style and that car has it:
Style wasn't mentioned. Coolest was.
Do you want to change your vote? :hi:
The GTO is nice, I must agree. However, I do have to correct the fact that the Dukes Charger was a 1969. This is the only year of Gen II that had a split grill. Plus, the '68 had round tail and side marker lights and the General Lee's were rectangular.
It actually pains me to bring this up because I have always loved the '69 and it had nothing to do with that show. I wish I had a nickle for every time somebody asked me if I was going to paint mine like the Dukes. :2cents:
Then I could probably get the restoration done.
You are right, I am sorry that was typo on my part. Yes the only diff in those years was the grill. But no I stand by my decision. GTO is still the coolest in my opinion :2cents:
I might be a bit biased but I like the 71 dodge demon...hehe
check this out: http://www.sandersonsales.com/eleanor.html
Id say either the Boss 302 or the Roadrunner. 0-60 in 5.4, in my opinion best hemi ever made.
Well, the 1969 dodge charger did impress me in the movie Fast & Furious
I think you mean the black killer what Diesel drove at the end of the movie
For myself I like all the Dodge/Plymouth mopars. If I where the DaimlerChrysler boss then Plymouth would have an instant comeback. :smoke:
Dodge hemi chargers are Crazy :smoke: full of power! and torque real
:smoke: The 1969 hemi R/T charger stuffed with the awesome power of the 426 Hemi motor
For me, the 1968 Dodge Dart Hemi is my favorite muscle car ever. I love the looks of em, and such power in such a light car is devastating.
what can i say
I think monte carlos. but i also like camaros and such.
I would have to the 1973 Chevy Nova SS. nice curves and awesome power when coupled with the 350 and a nice holley 4 barrel. but it isn't no mustang or charger or even big sis the Camaro.
The ultimate muscle car is the 2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra.
Hemi Cuda. Friend had one, that was some good stuff!
Obviously people's definitions of "musclecar" vary widely.
I'll pick one (though it's hard to pick just one) that is strangely missing from your list;
- 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS-6. The LS-6 had four bolt mains, forged crank 11:1 compression, solid lifters, rectangular port big valve heads, aluminum intake, Holly 4 barrel and 450hp. Make mine Cranberry Red with an M-22 rockcrusher and 4.10 gears please.
I love Eleanor... or any variation of the Shelby GT500. I also love the 1st and 2nd Gen Trans Ams.
1967 Chevelle anyone? Cant bust one with a 454, muncie m22 rock crusher. Most beatiful car ever made. after that i would say 1970 Elcamino, ive got one with stroked 350, and id put it up against any hemi any day.
Well you could, but you'd lose.
'67 Chevelles are nice, but they never made one with a 454. Top engine would have been an L-78 396 (375hp rating) although there are conflicting reports about whether or not any were made in '67. The L-34 (350 hp rated) 396ci would have been the next most powerful engine available.
'78 Trans Am blk/blk
can't beat for head turns, chick drooling magnet, performance, looks, comfort, style, and just driving, punchin' around town.
hahahahaha i read your post then looked down and your sig wasn't opened
for me, it was a really close race between the charger, camaro and corvette but since i love corvettes i had to choose it
HemiCuda for me...such power and style...hotness!
1. 1969 yenko 427 camaro
2. 1969 formula 400 anniversary trans am
3. 1969 Ford torino 428 talledagga dan guerny special
4. 1970 426 hemi cuda'
5. 1965 tri power GTO
These are the 5 cars in my opinion are the cars that scream MUSCLE CAR the most !! :2cents:
I gotta agree with WeaponR...his pic on page 1 says it all: Shelby Mustang GT500.
Ooooh i love the mopars, and i love the pony cars but i had to push the king of muscle cars into this one the 454 70 LS-6. I do see oddly there are some import people voting for muscle cars. looks like even the ricers have some effection for that deep tone melody :wink2:
I vote for the '70 Nova L78 (396 ci/375 hp), black on black, buckets,
Oh wait... that's my car! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif
I love the 70 Chevelle LS6 and the Hemi Mopars too...
Well... This is akward. I feel ripped off.
Mines not even on the list. Oh well.
This was my buddy's car... looks kinda like the one you're doing!
See... I'm not prejudiced!
 Not what I was refering too.... I ment your username. Compare
mine and yours for a minute.
Okay... I get it now... :banghead:
This is my very rare 1969 Hurst SC/rambler (B) paint scheme with CROSS-RAM INTAKE !!!!
Click below for 50+photos and history of my SC,
History of Hurst SC/rambler's, ( please take the time to read about these great cars),
Here is a cool site, (see burn out videos)
I love the AMX but the Hurst SC/rambler's where just so COOL and they were faster !!!!!
FREEDOM = AMC
my signature says it all!
the best muscle car ever created was the aussie ford xy falcon phase 3, with the 351 clevo!
Espousing any one car as the "best" is a stretch, and although I don't have
any first hand knowledge of the car you're referring to, I will admit the
351 Cleveland was a decent LITTLE motor. Post some 1/4 mi stats for the
aussie falcon and lets see where it sits compared to say, my 440 Six Pack.
Unless its a factory racecar, then we'll have to compare it to an SS Hemi
Dart or something.
Never mind, did a search and found some statistics for the aussie
380hp and 14.4 sec 1/4mi. Not bad for a small block.
No Fords in the poll? The "coolest muscle car" in my opinion would have to
1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe/Hardtop with 351C modified with blower, flaps on roof and trunk, and the 4 dual side exhausts(total of 8 pipes) .
2nd choice would be 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429.
Edit reason: added pictures.
I personally like the look of the 1969 Dodge Superbee....i grew up with one
(we still have it), and have had it for as long as i remember. They just
look so mean from any angle....
black Power Bulge hood
black bee stripe
black vinyl/grey cloth int.
American Racing rims...
i love that car so much.
in my opinion the the absolute coolest american muscle carhttp://www.gnregistry.org/images/BGN00336B_667miles.JPG
In my opinion i dont think there is just one car that really dominates or comes out on top of all the others. There are many great, nice looking muscle cars and i think most of them have already been named here. I do however like the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T w/426 Hemi (black on black). If i HAD to choose one that car would be my choice. Or even the 1969 Dodge Daytona or 1970 Plymouth SUperbird w/440 sixpack (of course). Cant go wrong with the big and powerful cars.
Ford Mustang GT500 , or the Ford GT40 (origional) would get my vote above
any car you can think of  just look at them!!!!
i do realise this may be classed as a "supercar".... but with a noise like this beast makes it belongs with the top muscle cars..
the shelby GT500 is the nearest thing to perfection... without baby-oil being involved in the equasion..
Dodge Demon by far is the coolest muscle car, especially when its roaring down my streey.
I have to agree with you thouhg to weapon, that mustang is a nice car.
I am partial to the 71 roadrunner, double the leafs and extra heavy front suspension and it made for an incredible road car, not bad on the longrun either, topped at 145 mph before the curves slowed me down and the new mustang took an exit.
undesputed :smoke: georg car and its got the muscle to bac up the looks
wtf is a fury???????? who makes what year or era it was in????????????
Plymouth made the Fury and it was made in the later 60's and i think earlier 70's. They also had a Fury II and Fury III if i remember correctly. Not bad cars really.
I hav a question... what car does triple X drive (vin dieisel)? the purple
fury's were around in some form or another from '56 to '89.
'56 to '58, they were just "Fury"s available only in "buckskin beige" w/ gold trim and were a HP 2dr fullsize car meant to be a counterpart to the chrysler 300 and dodge d500's. christine was a belvedere in the movie.
'59 to '74 they were just plymouth's full size car, 2 or 4 doors available as well as wagons... they had fury I, fury II, fury III, sport fury, VIP, fury gran, and suburban wagons, depending on year (fury I-III '65 to '73, VIP '66 to 70?, fury gran '74, SF '59 to '71?)
'75-'78 gran fury was the fullsize and fury was the midsize (for '75, the roadrunner package could be had on the midsize fury)
'79 fury took a break
'80-'89 gran fury's were plymouth's fullsize once again. look for them as police cars on some 80's movies & tv shows...
just in case you really wanted to know...
'68 GTO  A sweet ride
I'm surprised that no one said the 1970 454 LS6 Chevelle. I like all
musclecars all the same but this one really sticks out to me because it is
the strongest base stock RAW car to ever come out of Detoit. Sure the Z-L1
Camaro would beat it by a little bit in the quarter mile but it had
aluminum block and heads. The LS6 was a 4000 pound car that can run low
13's like 13.3, 13.2, now thats real "balls". New cars just don't have it,
they may be fast, light, good handling, but they don't have the grunt that
musclecars do. The Chevelle had 450 underrated horsepower which means it
really put out just over 500 and that big bock, the MK IV, could run up to
6500 rpm and still stay cool. The LS6's quartermile times would be 13 flat
or in the high 12's if the tires actually hooked up i mean with 500 lb.
ft./torque, its hard to get them to hook up unless you have slicks, but i'm
talking factory wide ovals. With a 4:10 4spd trans. and someone who knows
how to launch a car and shift at 6100, then awesome.
Ford Falcon GT (pick your own year, but esp the XT)
1 1969 Super Camaro Yenko
you cant beat it the shelby is close but the yenko is beauty and the ebast. Beauty on the outside and the beast under the hood. Next though if i was going for a spefic one it'd either be the concept shelby in gone in 60 or the charger from fast adn the furious both sold for like over a million i believe(like ill ever really get those)
1966 427 Cobra...some might say its not a muscle car because it only has 2 seats...118 mph 427 8V engine...it is quite beastly
Sticking with the 'Cuda. Hemi 'Cuda= amazing.
it has 2 stupid seats?
omg...u know what i meant
Now THAT is what i call, Mans Best Friend. :hi:
Well, seats are not known for their smarts----LOL
Besides my own car I would enjoy owning any of the following:
1969 427 Yenko Camaro
1969 RS Z-28 Camaro
1969 440-6 Super Bee
1970 Boss 429
Any Hemi car 1966-1971
1973 SD 455 Trans AM
1970 Plymouth Superbird (Hemi)
1969 Dodge Daytona (Hemi)
I got a deep love for the Charger. General Lee anyone?
'69 z28 or 67 stingray
