im looking for a car under $8500 that looks good has good reliability, will
beat my friends 2005 Acura RSX-type S, and possibly get good
Also feel free to put as much as you want... i can use all the info i can get
An RSX-Type S is kinda hard to beat unless u get maybe a 1991 Mustang LX with a 5.0 liter engine, it is almost the same as the GT but without the body kit. It is the perfect sleeper.
Well i cant think of any car under $8500 that beat RSX S,
but i am sure you can get a car that can keep up with RSX,
there is GSX, GSR, GT mustang...later if i think of something
else i ll post it here.
I know plenty of car that could beat an RSX im just tryin to decide which one to get
Go out...buy urself a 3rd generation Camaro z28....for around 5k..in good
condition....slap a supercharger on it...and ull run circles around your
friends RSX....plenty of cars can beat a RSX type S...a 14'8 for 8,500$
isnt hard to accomplish. or get a mustang 5.0 which would smoke ur friends
car off the line....but highway racing would be even.....keep it
american....if u wanna beat ur friends car which is an import....do it to
him worst with an american car.<<<
90+ 300zx TT ?
89+ 240sx (w/SR or RB) ?
90+ 3000GT VR-4 ?
Eclipse GST or GSX ?
well, these are just some suggestions if you are an import fans.
to be honest...its hard to find something that will satisfy all the requirements that you listed.
beats Type-S ~200HP *CHECK* all cars listed above have equivalent or higher HP than the Type-S RSX.
and GOOD ON GAS MILEAGE...this is a tough one to beat
A vr-4 or a gsx for under 8500 is a tough find. I still see early 90's vr-4s for 14000. GSX's are rare and many are still around 10000. My 91 was 8750 with 130,000 miles
A Mustang GT or Mustang LX with a 5.0L 302 V8 would be your best bet. Your friends little RSX wouldnt stand a chance. You could also buy a newer Mustang which uses the 4.6L V8 and beat the hell out of him with that also.
A RSX type S will do 0-60 in about 6.9 seconds. A GST will top that easily, /a mustang GT will top that. As far as quality interior and such, I would look for a late 80's BMW M series coupe.
Stock 5.0l mustangs are way underpowered, shit my 3G eclipse dusted a early 90's 5.0l GT easily and it is comparabe to a RSX in straight line performancee.
Not true, I got my car (GSX) with a brand new motor (6-bolt swap) for
$7500. It's very easy to find a 1G DSM for under $2K (I frequently see
them in the paper for $900-$2000, AWD)... you got raped on your car. My
friend payed $2700 for his '92 TSI AWD which is the great crossover year
with the 6-bolt motor and 4-bolt rear end.
Yeah, I'm starting to sound like a broken record. But a GSX/TSI is probably your best bang-for-the-buck. You could always go sleeper and find a modded Galant VR-4.
The only GSX/TSI's you'll find for over $10K are either making 500hp, or are '98-'99 cars, which are still quite expensive and desireable (though mechanically idendicle to the '95-'97's).
