Type R vs Prelude

Which would you rather have an 01 Type R or and 01 Prelude. I would usually say the Type R but today i saw this sweet Prelude on the dealership, so i decided to test drive it. I was like heaven ahhh. And to top everything off the color was awesome Electric Blue. I havent driven the ITR but i have driven the GSR so i am not too far off. I think i would take the Prelude.

I would definatley get the ITR if it was for a decent price IMO (Which is about $15,000 or under). But unfortunatley almost ALL ITR's sell for $20,000 or over. So I'd definatley get the Prelude, a great handling car that's extremely fun to drive. Plus you can pickup a 97-99ish one for under $10,000.

ITR vs. Lude...I'd go with the ITR . But thats just me. :2cents:

I would take the ITR as well. They're more rare, i see preludes everywhere. And the pearly white is so nice. The yellow is beautiful as well. Does it go for around 20,000 usd? Up here in Vancouver, it only goes for around 20,000 CDN, and thats like 18,000 USD. And you can still haggle a bit. My friend's brother got his 01 ITR for under 20,000 cdn. And it had generally low mileage; 54,000 km.

I'd go with the Integra, I just like it better :smoke:

You know, I saw what I thought was a real Type-R Integra the other day. It looked exactly like one, the body, even the decals were exactly as they should be. I thought wow, could this be a real one? Until I went around the other side and saw one of the decals had been placed upside down.

Real genius at work.

Down in the south at least they got REAL popular (probably because of F & F...) and I havent seen one go for under $20,000 personally in my old state of GA. Havent even seen one in Baton Rouge yet. VERY rare car to see. Most are either garaged permanetly or are racing in the SCCA and such.

in chicago the Tyoe R can be found for like 17k. There are two ads where they want 17k for asking price and it has 53k miles black color, and the other one is 17k yellow one and says low miles. 10k more could sure be uselful but that prelude that i drove was really sweet.

I'm not a fan of the 97-01 ludes, I just don't like the headlights at all. Now if you ask me if I had a choice between a '94 prelude si VTEC and '94 type R, I would definitely take the lude.

I Agree. I'd Take the lude too.

I'd probably go with the Prelude.

ITR hands down. The ITR is one of the best handling FWD cars produced to date. The Prelude may put down similar power numbers, but an ITR is going to hand the Prelude its little butt at your local road course.

Prelude

I'd take prelude. For one, I already have one and love it, and got it for under 10k, and it would be hard to find a ITR for that price. Second, I think it looks better and is a better car to me overall.

You mean impossible to find an ITR for that price?

In Atlanta you're crazy to sell a 97-01 ITR for UNDER $18,000. They consider that giving it away.

In Spanish class today we were cooking , and the teacher forgot some groceries (potatoes, garlic, etc...), I got to go with her, because I can't cook for my life, and was supposed to just set the tables ...Point is, she drove a Prelude, and it definately drives pretty nicely...don't know if I enjoyed the ride more, or because she was hot, but the car was definitely better than what I though...Still like the Type-R better, but the Integra is in a very close second :smoke:

Been gone a while but anyway, the topic....

My prelude is definitely a great car. Far better looking than any integra or rsx IMO. I don't put much weight on performance, these are all FWD cars, but the Prelude is a great DD.
