can any turbo fit any car as long as it has the right parts?
What sought of question is that?
You have physical and performance criteria to consider when selecting any piece of gear, let alone a turbocharger.
Silly boy, just say yes. :wink2:
To answer your very blunt and semi retarded question with a very blunt and
semi retarded answer:
Yes, you could technically make any turbo FIT on any car. Whether or not the idea of mounting a garrett GT6041 to a 3 cylinder geo holds any intelligence... well thats a matter of opinion.
:orglaugh: ROFL Good one
You can put any turbo on any car, but it doesn't matter what turbo you put
on, there is a limit to the amount of PSI you can run. On a stock non-turbo
engine, if you go above around 5-7PSI you will start blowing out parts like
no tomorrow. In order to run high PSI and get a lot more HP you have to get
new, thicker gaskets that can take the pressure, get lower compression
ratio pistons, and replace the rods. Also if it is a manual transmission I
suggest getting a better clutch as you will burn the OEM out very fast.
(Turbo runs off of exhaust gases so you would need a header that has a connection to a turbo, unlike superchargers it can be put ALMOST anywhere in the engine bay provided you want to run that much piping to it.)
I have seen a Eagle Talon with an aftermarket turbo(not sure which one), A huge adjustable wastegate, a huge intercooler, and a 3" exhaust ALL the way back. that was nice...
