who would win?

Home  \  Asian Imports  \  who would win?

some country guy has been bugging me forever to race him, he drives a 71 chevy truck, i dono what kind of truck, but he seems to think its fast, it has 405 hp and weighs 5300 lbs he said, i drive a 01 celica gt with a cold air intake and an exhaust,he said if i loose id have to pay for his gas, which would be alot in that truck, so what do u guys think, and how much does weight really matter?

posted by  dsmracersv98

Where are you racing at, that would effect the outcome dramaticly?

posted by  65Galaxie

flat, straight road, probly will just be about a quartermile, he won't race on any curvy roads, lol, hmm wonder why, but yeah just a straight road basically oh yeah by the way the celica gt weighs just under 2500 lbs also

In street racing, everybody loses.

why do you say that?

You're running down the road, a mom's driving down the road with two children in the back seat. You guys are doing 80mph, and while you're looking at the guy in the truck, BAM! you've just become a murderer :banghead:

You can't win, no point in even trying :2cents:

well i get that, i don't do illegal things anyways though, i woud only race him at a strip though, probly shouldve stated that before, but back to the question though...?

1/4 mile time calculators say he might run 14.6. You probably run 15.4 if you're good at driving. I'd call bullshit on his horsepower number, though.

posted by  OombaIsBack

Well it's easily possible if he's using a 350 or 454 like a lot of people have in those kinds of trucks..

posted by  car_crazy89

14.6?????? how did you get that? how do you know what gears he has? stall converter? trans? i've seen trucks run 11s with less horse power.

is the truck 4x4 or 2?

posted by  glagon1979

the truck probably weighs less ... this truck is pretty big

Actually, I didn't bring it up, someone else did. But the facts are right there.

And I must be God, because this thread was started on April 27, 2006. Which really isn't that long ago.

Time just seems to move slower when you're retarded. And anyone that asks a question like that... Well, you know. :wink2:

okay, thats the first time i saw i had seen this post since, well, i had posted it, lamboluver started it, my bad, and vwhobo, do u really have to comment on everything?

posted by  dsmracersv98

Uh, no, just the things that catch my interest. And if you look at my post history that answer will be backed up. I think you don't like the fact that I pointed out what was already obvious to many people... That perhaps you're somewhat deficient in your mental capacity. Slow to put it nicely. :wink2:

not everyone knows a lot about cars, or things of that such, I dont spend my time around them too much and i havent tried to learn very much about them, most of my time is spent playing the drums and going to school and or work, im not as dumb as you think, and by the way , im just curious, how old are you?

posted by  dsmracersv98

Funny, I don't expect everyone to know a lot about cars. The problem arises when people speak as though they know about cars and don't. It's very transparent to those who do. It would be like me telling you how to play the drums. I know a little bit about it and have even played around with them years ago in band. But after saying that, I'm smart enough to shut my mouth. To pretend I know more than I do would be ignorant and foolish. That's a tip that most of the members of this forum should take to heart.

As for my age, it's well publicized on this forum. Put your curiosity to work.

I'll help you out with his age so you don't have to look for it!

Actually you're ignorance in this thread wasn't really car related, it was more of an overall ignorance.
