How can I tell what kind of engine I have in my car, i know its not a VTEC but i cant figure it out and i want to turbo it.

On your block, right next to your transmission is a number that starts with a D. That's the name of that engine. Google or Wikipedia it to find out more info on it.

He said it was a non-Vtec.

The D16Y8 is a Vtec motor. Either he has this motor and has no idea about it, or his motor has been swapped.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt all EX models come V-Tec equipped?

Yes, but greddy_civic hasn't cleared up what engine he has. He "knows its not a VTEC", which means that he either a.) had his engine replaced, or b.)didn't know his car had VTEC.:wink2:
