If you were going to buy one whitch would you choose? I think i would have to go with the STi. I dont like the Evo's interior but they are both great cars in my mind
I agree that they're both great cars, but I'd take the Evo...From what I've seen, Scoobies handle better off road, but on the street, the Evo is faster. Not that I'd really be able to push either car to its limits lol.
the Evo is only .1 sec faster to 60 and like.7 or .8 in the quater. I like the STi because it looks more agressive. TESTOSTERONE!!
Yeah, but if you haven't noticed, they weren't designed only for straight
According to Top Gear, the Stig's lap time (http://www.topgear.com/content/tgonbbc2/laptimes/thestig/) with the STi was 1:30.1. The Evo VIII was 1:28.9...It might not sound like much, but that difference puts the Impreza just ahead of a Golf R32, and the Lancer as fast as a Porsche 911 Carrera S, and a little slower than a Viper SRT-10
BTW .7 seconds over 15 seconds, give or take is a pretty vast difference.
Evo's faster around a track. If we're talking STI vs Evo MR, I'd take the Evo.
The new Evo is pretty hot and aggressive to me. I'd take that over any
Sti. Not surprising since I'd take any Evo over any equally tasked
Sti...the new one furthers the gap for me however.
The only thing that may bother me about this car is that is has been "rumored" to be a paddle-shift type transmission car only. Not many paddle-shifts get editor love. I've never driven a "true" paddle-shift equipped car, so I wouldn't know for sure.
this has been discussed over and over again... search
I would take the Evo. I prefer the evo's look to the sti for some reason. I especially like the FQ 400. :smoke:
I hear the evo X will be faster than the STI.
Something about the STI that I just noticed (please no, "obviously" comments)
Take off the wing, the hood scoop and the gold plated wheels, and it looks like just a simple-shaped Impreza.
The evo has the wing and hood scoop also, but it does not look exactly like a regular lancer at least. It's more distinct.
Realistically though, that shouldn't be an issue...
I looked but i couldnt find anything
look again matey!!!

probably one of the most famous, along with your find Jamie
I think we can let him off though, as it's been a while since the last flame w....I mean topic of this nature...
Evo!!!!!!!!! STI's SUCK!!! I hate em!!! I almost got killed in one!!!:cussing:
thats why you hate them? because one almost killed you?
Mitsubishi arnt as good as they used to be in the WRC now are they:wink2:
Are you sure you didn't nearly kill yourself in one?
I got tired off looking after a few minutes
Does it really make a difference? Tell Cliffy delete the old thread then.
Lord knows if he "revived" one of the older threads, he would have been hit with the..."why did you revive such an old thread...noob?".
Unless he has a pattern of reviving old threads, I say let him be.
no but it gets annoying when there are the same topics discussed as before... search before u post.
What type of bitch gets annoyed over a topic he doesn't have to read?
A super bitch.
hey moron, we have a f*cking search tool here for a reason. Not that hard to type in STI EVO. Old threads have useful information in them.
Forget those two, get a Citroen Xsara WRC
(kit car) although its been replaced by the Citroen C4 (boom boom)
haha.. you can make the Evo look more agressive!!!!!
I have one of them, lol.....Ok, it's not a WRC version....just a mere
I can kind of see what 'What' is saying, when a thread gets soooo old, it's far easier to start a new one. And lets admit it, we would flame somebody for bringing back such an old thread. I think it's an irritating subject all together, because it's one we've all sen time after time!
ive got one also (in 1/18 scale!)
and a subru and a pug 206
yeah the wrx and the sti look exactly the same but evo and lancer are completly different cause the taillights and the headlights are diff, the hood, the trunk just basically everything xept the interior. plus the new facelift on the sti sucks
no shit sherlock!!!
explain this? (http://altnet.ru/~autodesk/sportcar/subaru/Impreza/subaru_Impreza_WRX_STI_ 12.jpg)
you know something, those bug-eyes are starting to grow on me.
that bug-eye wagon does look nice and attractive in white especially!!!
i really dont care for either, but if i had to pick it would be the EVO
i love the bugeyes, especially with the optional (?) fogs.
They'll NEVER grow on me....
not even the white wagon i posted?
(like you said sometime ago, white is sexy)
It won't look any better in another colour, but it's still fugly!
theres a pink one that floats around plymouth, well, there used to be one until it crashed into a couple of police cars!
Yeah, but the Evo FEELS more aggressive. Go Evo.
I've never seen Jamie use profanity until this thread.
Stop corrupting Jamie. He's our last bit of purity.
Jamie just wants to be more like me....I'm a role model of his, lol  ....Having said that, I'm pure, I never really use profanity (only when it's warrented, lol)
check out that subie. how can u not like those bugeyes!
because this looks better:mrgreen:
clicky here-y (http://www.redline925.com/carpics/lip_garage/1.jpg)
I heard thats Litchfield Imports bought a few STi s and made them even
0-60 in 3.7 and 415 bhp. But they are only available in Japan and somewhere in Europe. :cussing:
I never understood the appeal of buying a modified brand new car from a place like Hennessey(especially Hennessey, hes an ass) or the place greg985 mentioned. They charge ridiculous prices for pretty minor modifications that you could have done or do yourself for much cheaper. 415 bhp in an STI? Not hard in the least.
well i can see how people would like to buy a modified car. Some people
(like me) don't know enought about cars to do any major work with the
engine or suspention for example. Sure i can bolt on party but i could
never install a turbo. So its nice to know that people that know what they
are doing worked on your car.
0-60 in 3.7 sec thats in the ball park with a Z06 and the STi cost about 40k in U.S
my dads friend was driving
Please refrain from using the FU smillie in future, you rely on it far too much. It was a light hearted joke.....Oh well, should I really have expected any other response? :banghead:
this years Subaru WRC car looks really nice doesnt it?
(i do anyway) do you think they'll have a better year this year???
