What are your opinions on them. After being persuaded not to buy an M3 as my first car, I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with the MR2. They look really nice, and pretty quick for a 4 cyl engine.
what year? yeah, theyre fun. just remember the engine is in the back, so if you happen to break the tyres loose around a corner, chances are youre gunna loop it, especially if its your first car. also M3= not the best first car. although cool, probably to fast
That's not your biggest problem with a mid-engined Toyota.
Kian123: How much experience do you have working on cars? Any kind of mechanical work is gonna cost $$. Don't believe me, try changing the spark plugs or oil on an MR2. You'll soon see why.
I personally dont have much experience, but my dads friends all own car dealerships, and would be willing to fix my car usually for whatever the parts cost, and no labor costs. I was looking at a 1991-1993, with a t-top.
I cant exactly remeber the years but i think thats a MKII and I actually
like the cars alot and yes maintenance is a pain but its not too bad, Ive
worked on a few at work, try changing the back for spark plugs on a F-body
haha. I'd recommend the turbo one as its not too fast to begin with but it
still has alot of potential.
But your driving maturity will play a big role and you may want to get an N/A version.
Or something non mid-engined. I don't think the M3 nor the MR2 make good starter cars if I'm honest.
Haha yah elchangos right. I forget sometimes, that not everyone grew up aroung High HP cars and motorsports.
personally i love the cars. I am picking up one this weekend. the one i am getting is a 93 NA. the turbo ones are quicker and have more potential with the 3gste engine.
oh yea. 3sgte is very fun. made the celica move nice and quickly... infact!
3sgte> sr20gte lol... anyways...
this is why beginners dont drive mr2 turbos
this was my friends car. he wasnt even a beginner driver. he just wasnt expecting it to slide out so quick. little rain and a corner is no good
get a celica front wheel drive and still sporty... and its toyota... cmon
nvm, I saw that it was your friend ;). Sorry.
its crazy how this part goes. if he HAD been wearing his seatbelt, he would have died
wtf? thats weird..well glad hes okay, and decided against the mr2, might get an 04 focus SVT with 30k miles on it, my dads friend is selling it at his dealership pretty cheap for me.
svt focus is quick. my uncle has one. its got recaro leather seats. nice wheels, id call it a good buy
