30k for about 200hp and fwd. I'll...pass. There are so many other cars I'd rather have. Is anyone here interested? posted by  What

I like the car, but yeah, with the $10,000 I'd save by buying a stock one, I could customize it to appeal to me. I like the subtle changes though. posted by  chris_knows

same general opinion over here

It looks pretty good and I bet its pretty fun to drive for a front wheeler

but its hilarious how it costs $5000+ more than a 300hp rwd mustang

im sure I could think of more cars that clearly offer much more bang for the buck but im tired as hell posted by  nighthawk

I saw this before and I wasnt impressed. you are basically paying the 10k for exclusivity. itl make a bit more than 200 with the exhaust, but not enough to warranty the price difference. Its one of those things that hardcore honda fanatics will buy just to have, thats all posted by  newyorker

Hondas are slow posted by  Enthusiast

Never too keen on Mugen, I'd just import a Type-R from Japan. Suspension is already stiff enough on the Type-R. I prefer this over the triangulated Civic we get in the UK though. posted by  fudge

lol thats a bold statement..any proof to that? posted by  newyorker

Im actually not a biased person at all but the most powerful honda in history(stock) had less than 350 hp im pretty sure

most people would say NSX but im actually thinking the new honda legend

not counting trucks ethier

actually yeah im counting the trucks too :orglaugh: posted by  nighthawk

power isnt everything...my buddy took his s2000 to the track ran a 14.0 stock...not bad for a 2 liter posted by  newyorker

hondas are slow if you want real speed and performance, they are nothing comparing to bmw m series, nissan nismo devision, barabus team from mercedes and others, and yeah no way anyone is gonna pay that much for a civic, car is not gonna sell well in US thats for sure. posted by  07exlv6

They're only selling 1,000...They've probably already all been pre-ordered. posted by  chris_knows

oh i didnt know only 1,000, i just thought they gonna market it like they did the si posted by  07exlv6

It's a limited edition of the Civic, it'll hold it's price better than a normal Civic because it is sought after. Not to mention it'll be a great car for the track days.

And no Hondas are not slow. posted by  fudge

I'll take mine over any of the new ones, especially that one.

30K? Man the car I could buy with 30K...it would not be that. posted by  jedimario

2 liter is a coke size not a motor size.:orglaugh:

14s are still slow, and about the NSX, Ive ran one and they are pretty quick stock, and they hook extremely well, but the aftermarket and potential isnt there, even NSX owners will tell you that, these cars HATE boost.

The thing that makes me hate them is the price. Way overpriced for what they are, but a solid car overall.

I still believe hondas are slow outside of street bikes and a 500cc 2 stroke honda motor in a whoever made it, frame. posted by  Enthusiast

you can get a used NSX for about 30k...yes its old, but still an amazing car. 14s might be slow, but not for a 2 liter posted by  newyorker

The Evo Lancer VIII runs 13.5's stock. Even better for a 2.0 lol. posted by  chris_knows

yea but remember the evo is turbocharged posted by  newyorker

Yeah but remember the S2000 seats only 2. lol. posted by  chris_knows

true.. posted by  newyorker

Still slow sorry. Im content with a 12 but would prefer 11s atleast. You need alot of power around here to be at all competitive. posted by  Enthusiast

For 30K you could get a used C5 z06. Faster better looking and it has a CD player. haha, oh and plus way more potential. posted by  Enthusiast

long time since ive been here... but, mugen civ is cool, but id rather keep it right with the hatch type r...

Ive kinda always wanted to build a badass NA honda motor to go into a stripped body with nothing in it. Something like an old hatch or a del sol but never got around to it. Someone gave me a D series a while back and I was gonna mod it slightly and then spray the hell out of it til it went BOOM but a buddy needed it so I gave it to him.

Could you use a S2000 drivetrain (tranny back) and swap it into like a hatch or something to make it RWD, What motors outside of the F20C will mate up to the S2000s M6? posted by  Enthusiast

you could always make a mid engine honda...some guy swapped i think an h22 into his integra in the middle and it was RWD

or if you want a nice car, get the s2000...not everyone cares about how much power they can make, speed isnt everything there is to life..be a bit more open minded posted by  newyorker

Uhm well I like fast cars and cars are a big part of my life, and dont go the practically route, ESPECIALLY with an S2000:banghead: posted by  Enthusiast

yea i know...i duno compared to a c5 corvette the s2000 feels more refined...i duno if you understand what i mean posted by  newyorker

Definetly not.

Ive driven both and driven both hard. I prefer the Z0 in every category except maybe cool gadgets in the interior.

Better mileage
More potential
Drives better
Faster
I thought it was more comfortable but that doesnt mean much I prefer stiff cars
Better looks

uhmm y would i compare a c5 corvette to the s2000, doesnt seem fair of course c5 is a killer posted by  07exlv6

Dont get me wrong if it was up to me I would take the c5 z06, the s2000 just has a nicer feel to it i duno how to explain it..here is a sexy vette from a local club

And that response demonstrates perfectly what I mean in this post (http://www.car-forums.com/talk/showthread.php?p=250246#post250246). You ingnorant little twat. How can you hate an inanimate object? Maybe, just maybe, if you were able to pull your head out of your ass for a little while and grow up, to mature to the level of the average seventh grader, you'd realize just exactly how stupid you sound when you make comments like that.

Oh and new yorker Ive got a pic of a Zr1 on Z06s they fit but they rub, so only a couple of people have done it. I know one guy ripped a fender fromt he rubbing but they still look amazing, let me find it. posted by  Enthusiast

Id really like them in the graphite color on a red car
To work correctly you would need a ~1" spacer for the rear (stock Z06 rear)
And a knock front Z06 wheel with correct offset, which can be had posted by  Enthusiast

cant u just roll the fenders? thats what normally ppl do when there is rubbing posted by  07exlv6

i was curious and talked to some local muscle car guys on my forum and they said with a slight fender roll and modified bump stop they fit perfectly.... posted by  07exlv6

This right here is why you have been and will continue to be treated just like what you are... A stupid, thickheaded, too smart to learn anything child. What part of "No you cannot" don't you understand.

You and your "local muscle car guys" don't have a clue, and don't have any intention of getting one. Go back to the other forum and ask them to explain to you in great detail, so you can come back here and explain it to us, just exactly how they propose to roll the fenders on a fiberglass bodied car.

Perhaps my lack of "car knowledge" is the problem here, but I fail to see how your economy sedan with double the budget can keep up.

Learning how to think before typing/talking might be useful. Hell, learning how to think, period, might be useful. posted by  Nissan_Altima

Thats what they do in the back of 4th gens when running a wide 315 (some companies 315s dont require alot of work)
Relocate the bump stop, BFH mod (BIg ****in Hammer used to beat inner fender in slightly) and rolling the fender.

C4s have glass fenders like hobo said and you cant "roll" them, also by looking at the pic you can see how extremely off the front offset is. People are just buying knock Off Z0 in a 40mm (I think) and running those, its not worth tearing up a Zr1 panel, they are VERY expensive and VERY hard to find posted by  Enthusiast

I was just busting his balls but OK smartass...do you even know what those numbers mean...do you know the difference between 14 seconds at 125mph and 12 seconds at 125mph...can you give me an answer as to why there is a 2 second difference but same trap speed...my car cant keep up i never said it could. Perhaps if you took your own advice you wouldnt come out of this as a noob, but prove me wrong. Answer my questions without having to google it. posted by  newyorker

I prefer to egg him on...its fun to see a grown ass man arguin with teenagers like its #1 on his agenda..oh wait, it is :banghead: posted by  newyorker

Not exactly Twinkie. Let’s try the facts this time... Something I know you have a strong aversion to.

Way back, a long time ago, teenagers were smart enough to know that they could learn useful information from old timers. Its how all kinds of skills, trades, arts and knowledge were passed along for centuries. You see, we knew that by extracting their hard earned experience and years of knowledge we could become smarter and more experienced faster and with fewer mistakes.

We also knew our place, we knew not to speak unless spoken to, how to say yes sir, how to show respect. Guys like me were sweeping the floor at race shops at the age of 7 or 8, just to around the cars and the people (including my father, uncles and older cousins) and felt lucky to do so. As we got older and proved that we could shut up and learn, we were lucky enough to start helping with minor things on the cars. Then when we demonstrated our ability to follow directions, we were given minor tasks to complete. The process went on for years until we had the knowledge and experience to do it for ourselves. In some cases we're now doing it FOR those older guys and showing them new technology. What we never do though is to forget how we learned and who took the time to teach us, not just about being a gearhead, but also about life and how to live it honorably. We’re smart enough to know that we owe those old guys a huge debt of gratitude.

Fast forward to today.

The world is full of little punk ass twats like you that think because they read something on the internet, they’ve become subject matter experts. Because you have the almost absolute anonymity of the internet, you think you can say anything you want without repercussion. Because you’ve been ignored by your parents and any other adult that could be deemed a good role model, you don’t know how to act. Your life is pathetic but because you have no direct comparison with how life should be lived, no moral, intellectual or ethical compass, you don’t know how to change. Pity you.

At the age of 7 or 8, you were watching TV and playing video games while your parents did something other than spend time with you. When you got older, you were still ignored, maybe even neglected. You never learned how to interact with people, you never set a goal in life, and you never had any hands on experiences. Your life now revolves entirely around the internet… It’s where you go to “learn” things, it’s a completely safe place where you go to be an e-thug, it’s where you go to shoot your mouth off and act as though you have something to contribute. While you’re here and elsewhere being Mister Badass, the online idiot, life is passing you by. I may not have your situation nailed 100%, but I'm damn close and you know it.

So yeah, I have an agenda. I honestly try to help people learn, to instruct them, to guide them in the things that I know best, cars. That's MY reason for being a member of a car forum in the first place. Unfortunately, you and people like you have proven time and time again that you’re either unable or unwilling to learn. You’re imbeciles and not worth another nanosecond of my time. And your life for as long as you live will be poorer for it. The thing that scares me the most, is that when you finally find a woman that you don’t have to pay for sex, you’ll breed. And then we’ll have another generation of imbeciles. I’d say think about it, but that would be a waste. Most likely you haven’t even bothered to read it.

Have a nice day. posted by  vwhobo

That doesn't mean you're leaving does it? posted by  jedimario

Interesting speech, but you say you try to help people learn...when is the last time you helped someone here. All you have done is bashed members and argued with me and other people instead of using your automotive knowledge to help people...you just wait for someone else to say sometihng and then you question them on it providing no real help... posted by  newyorker

What a child. All your comebacks are the exact same thing. "I can fix this and that and you can't." "Do you even know what x, y, and z are?". I never said I'm a mechanic. I have no trouble keeping my mouth shut and not responding when I know little of what I'm saying. That's why I average .80 posts a day. I'd prefer to keep my mouth shut instead of saying something to prove that I have no clue. That's the lesson you should learn.

To answer your question, if I were to guess, I would say that there are a lot of possibilities. Some launch better than others. Some shift better than others. That could certaintly sum up to a 2 second difference with the same trap speed.

Maybe that's completely wrong. But at least I have enough common sense to know when to talk and when to not talk. I could ask you a million questions about other things that you wouldn't answer with 20 search engines, but since this is a car forum, I'll refrain. Better to not talk then waste space with answers such as...:

...and telling people to roll fiberglass fenders.

Genius, who tells a mechanic that THEIR car is unreliable. Would you try to convince an experienced compgeek that their computer sucks? posted by  Nissan_Altima

Look about 11 posts up in this thread. Is that recent enough for you? I said teach and instruct, not spoon feed Twinkie. posted by  vwhobo

I actually wasnt the one to tell anyone to roll fiberglass, I know better than that...you on the other hand probbably have no idea WHY fiberglass cant be rolled yet you try to use it as an argument...just stop posted by  newyorker

You can pop in a crate LT1 (not sure of the 2 yet) into a 240sx and supercharge that bish and make 3x the whp than that 30k civic and still have 5 or more grand to spend on whatever after a new paint job and interior lol.

You can do soo much with 30k that's just an idea above. I would never spend that kind of money on a Honda - even a NSX. You can get so much power with another platform - and hondas, anything done to them are not original anymore because everyone and their mom has one.

lol my 93 nissan nx2000 bluebird turbo rolls on anything around here - eats hondas for breakfast and i've only spent 6 grand on it, thats including the price of the mint condition limited production car itself...

ps - i hate honda because they made every used car price go up and they are shizzy cars to start with.

their prices are so high because they have to pay for inventory costs for every single vehicle they pop out of their arse a year. half the crap on a 2007 will not work with a 2006 and so on and so forth - they are a crappy brand and have crappy ways. posted by  kinyo

Hondas hold their resale value because...oh my god get ready for this, they are well made quality cars. They are shizzy cars?? wtf i dont even understand what you are saying.

And furthermore, the 2007 and 2006 civic models are identical, except for maybe a few small changes made. Try using a word other than crappy to make a point, otherwise you sound like a rambling 12 year old. posted by  newyorker

newyorker - the genious - i try and not swear :D - ima just call you mr bondo from now on - i hope you like that.

"oh my god" you say - honda has the largest warehouse line in all of history that is vehicle PARTS related because they bank on people not being able to buy used parts - a 2007 breaks down that have to buy 2007 ****ing parts you MORON. Quality lol you're full of shit newyorker - just because there are millions of hondas doesn't mean that they are quality cars. dont be a little bitch because you are too stupid to realize that you are wrong - ive been on this form not even 12 hours and i now realize why people dont like you - because you are stupid - i made a point and you go around it 360* - you're ass backwards get your shit straight. honda makes more money selling new PARTS THAN THEY DO SELLING CARS... and you say its a QUALITY CAR

**** OFF NEWYORKER - dont reply to me - you are REMEDIAL

Kinyo posted by  kinyo

you may be right that honda sells more parts than cars, in fact probbably every manufacturer does..idiot posted by  newyorker

Good Lord, is this newb making NYer look good? No, but still. Show me proof that Honda makes shiTTy cars. Wait, you're just running your mouth? That's what I thought.

And of course you can buy a used car and mod it and make it faster and cheaper than a new one. I could build a Ferrari beater for 100K. The idea of the new cars is that:
A) You get a brand-spankin' new car. A lot of people like that.
B) It's reliable (compared to your average heavily modded car)
C) It's under warranty
D) It's rare/collectable
E) Resale value

I don't care for this particular car, but that doesn't mean I have to be an ignorant tool. posted by  giant016

Ive driven your lame car. No not with all the oh so fancy suspension mods and whatnot but it's still slow and can't handle.
