ok people i just wanna know what you think. recently as some of you know, i
asked for help on my acura integra, and some people starting tlking ****
about street racers. Now i dont think i am fast and furious, but im proud
to race my car on the streets whenever i can. So i wanna know... Why is
there so much hating here?what do some of you have against "ricers" :evil:
i dont think thats something bad, if you dont like it then dont do it and
dont hate people that do it. being sincere, dont you guys have ever felt
the need to run your car on a sunday afternoon when ure coming home from
college?:ohcrap: , i think you do,but the difference is that when i feel
like it i dont repress it,i let it out the only way i know how.:thumbs:

Are we talking about bolting ugly crap on your car or street racing?
People with bad taste bolt ugly stuff on their cars, idiots street race,
and if you do both then you're pretty much the scum of the automotive
world. I can't htink of anyone worse anyway.

A ricer (to me) is someone who puts on a huge wing, fart can, ground
effects, etc, and then they claim that it takes the quarter in 8
seconds.
Street-racing is stupid, no matter what kind of car you use. I don't care
if you're the greatest driver in the tri-state area. You can go race on a
track, that's why laws were made to tell you how fast you can drive.
Believe it or not, even you can crash a car when you're racing.
Here's a real-life story that I heard a couple of months ago. A man
immigrated from India to Toronto, Ontario. He worked as a Taxi driver, long
hours--he would work 14 hour days, trying to save some money so that he
could send to his family back in India so that they could join him. One
day, a couple of teens are street racing in Mercedes and Lexi that their
parents had bought for them. The kids are racing downtown. Imagine a busy
street, lots of people on the sidewalk, and cars parked on the side of the
street. The kids were doing over 80 in an area where the speed limit is 40,
and they fly through a red light. The taxi driver is crossing the street,
and the kids, unable to stop, hit him on the side. The taxi driver dies on
the spot, and the kid that crashed the car (and his passengers) are fine,
with just some minor scratches.
I don't care if you want to race on the street. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW. Just
because I want to punch a cop that just gave me a ticket, doesn't mean I
should do it. Honestly, I think anyone who is a street-racer should be
castrated.

Street racing is really cool. Nothing quite like the feeling you get when
you wrap your boy-racer/chavmobil round a lamp post.
There's really no point in carrying on in thread as it's only going to go
one way...

Im aware. Some very knowledgeable car guys drive the slowest freakin cars.
A good buddy of mine knows his shit when it comes to cars, and does alot of
work on friends cars but he drove the SLOWEST 93 camry.

Why all the hate? Because we all do stupid things from time to time, but
we're not proud of it, nor do we advocate others to do it. IIRC a month
ago there were two seperate incidents in the same state (California I
think) that both happened within 24 hrs where in each street racers lost
control abd hit an oncoming car, killing the driver and passengers of the
car that was just driving, not racing. About 5 completely innocent people
were killed way before their time, all in the same area, in the same day.
If you crash and burn, I don't care. If you're endangering my grandma on
the way home from the bingo hall, it's not just your problem any more.

I've seen plenty of riced out Mustangs and Camaros. You can be anti-rice
in a 4banger import. Just mod the hell out of your car to make it fast,
but do nothing to the outside.

Having a body kit isnt necisarilly rice...depends on the car.
My buddys friend has an Altezza(..well altezza badged car) With a clean
body kit and 17 inch chrome wheels..and it its actualy prety nice
But having a yellow car, black hoot, clear tailights and park bench spoiler
looks really shitteh

not around here they don't. here, its just the steriotypical 4 cyl honda
with wheels that cost more than the car and stupid looking body mods. i
will give some import enthusiasts a lot of credit though. there are some
quick ones that would suprize the hell outta you rolling around here. i'm
not dissing 4 cyl cars in any way. i've owned 2 88-91 civic hatchbacks (one
with a 1.8 swap) and would own another. great on gas and fun to drive, but
i never went around spilling the usuall "you got 4 more cyl than i do, its
not fair" bullshit. those are the words of a ricer.

authentic Mugen, or Spoon, etc. wheels, most now just go with Rota since
they make a replica of almost every other hot wheel

The thing with the SW388 is that its VERY light...15x6 is like 12lbs a pop,
thats a good weight
