your favorite enginie? why?
B18c5, so much power out of a 1.8. plus, I want it for a project civic, ive
see one with 500HP.
an sr20, so many upgrade options.
Anything that gets me from point A to point B with minimal physical effort
and maximum pleasure and satisfaction...it could be an electric scooter for
all I care...
I'll break this up into segments...
Small - Honda's K series of engines (DOHC 16v i-Vtec I4 K20/K24)..these engines are just simply amazing...have great low end and haul ass up high...very nice and smooth at that, all you can ask for out of an engine it's size.
Medium - Nissan's VK56De 5.6L (DOHC 32v V8), siomply because of it's shear might and tech. I mean honestly, it's the only the only full-size truck that offer a DOHC 32v setup (other than the Tundra with the 4.7, but the Tundra's 4.7 doesnt even come CLOSE to comparing with the VK)...These things are WHOLEHEARTEDLY underrated in power...they easily slash out 335-345hp and a tick over 400ft-lbs bone stock. With just an exhaust/chip/intake these things EASILY make 370-380 crank hp and 420+ ft-lbs.
Large - GM's 502..why not a 540 or 572? Because they have a longer stroke therefore make turboing them that much more of a pain :)
The 2jz GTE,
3.0 liter inline six,DOHC,24v(4 valves per cylinder)
EFI, twin sequential turbocharged and intercooled
320 horsepower @ 5600 RPM
Plus, its reliable, and incredibly durable. I've heard of people buying one from a junk yard that had it sitting there for 5 years, taking it home, putting in some fuel and having it start right up.
Just for your information:
4G63-t (evo, eclipse), sr20 turbo, and vg30dett. They have tons of potential.
and of course the RENESIS
2004 Yamaha YZF-R1
158hp @ 12,750 rpms
74 ft/lbs @ 10,000 rpms
BMW M5 engine.
rb26dett, 2jz gte, rb26dett, sr20det.
In that order.
The 2JZ-GTE sounds nice and all, but I prefer the 2JZ-GE because I'm biased! Hehehe :orglaugh:
4A-GZE, 4A-GTE, 4A-GE. (you get the idea)
I find some of the symbolism for the engines interesting. Anyone care to list and explain a few more please!?
RB=Race breed, 26=2.6 liters, d=dual overhead cam, E=electronic fuel injection, TT=twin turbo or two turbo
SR=?, i think its just the family code but code be wrong, 20=2.0 liters,D=as above, E=as above, T=turbo
R=rotary, X= experimental, 7=Seventh in the line
CR-V= Compact Runabout Vehicle
HR-V= High Rider Vehicle
FR-V= Family Recreational Vehicle
4= 4th revision to A block
E= electronically fuel injected
heres a toyota engine code list
F - economical twin cam (cams closer to each other)
G - Twin cam
C - Emissions package or carburated (depending on year)
T - Turbocharged
Z - Supercharged
E - Electronic fuel injection
L - Lean combustion
U - Passes the Japanese emission
B - Twin carburaturs
Toyota's V8 engine (forgot the code name, but its the one going into the IS430 now with its new upgrades)
whatever the engine code for the Koenigsegg CC is
yes, i love inlines, specially inline-6's, and thats the order i like them in.
well my favortie engines would be
rover k series
jag duratec V6
I have toi confess that i do like the HDI range of diesels from PSA
B16a (1st gen civic)
B16a (2nd gen civic)
B16a (1st gen longblock)
B16a(2nd gen longblock)
F20C (very sexy Js4)
If you dont get the idea you're retarded
I also like mazda
I have a simple answer to your engine question, here are my top ten
(independent from any make):
1. V8 (Sound does matter) :smoke:
2. B4/flat/boxer (Great sound)
3. R6/straigt line (good sound)
4. V12 (good sound)
5. R5 (good sound)
IMO, sound does matter (I know I repeat myself  )
I was surprised to see no R26B (1991 quad rotar Le Mans wining 787b engine) on your list :hi:
Fav engine (can you guess?)
4g63 (specifically in GSX form)
Just wondering - since my IS300 has a 2JZ-GE in it, if I put in an aftermarket turbocharger, would it turn into a 2JZ-GTE? Or does the turbo have to come stock?
Three words. Air-cooled Volkswagen!
hmm...i wonder how I missed this one?
well, my favorite engine would have to be the mercedes V12 they put in the SL/S 65 AMGs. mmmm. torque.
oh, heres another one of mine... 7M-GTE (turbo cress. motor (also an older supra motor)
The good ol' 426CI HEMI. Street Hemis. I was going to put one in my '67 mopar project car (that was the first year for the "Street Hemi" wasnt it?) but, I bet everyone here knows how that idea went down the drain.
Amen to that.... 426 Hemi
Also like the new Hemi in production by Dodge.... 5.7L Hemi
Oh ya, 440 (Go Mopar) & the 302 (Got to love those 5.0L Stangs)
