I don't remember saying I know a lot about the 240sx. As for the AE86 I like these little cars.

AE86's are freaking sweet...2050 lbs, RWD, 50/50 weight ratio or so...underpowered but that can be fixed...so nimble and light...lots of fun...I wanted one...and almost got one for 900 bux

Doh!

what are hica's?

posted by  silvia_star

hicas is a 4 wheel steering system found on nissan skyline gt-r's

posted by  joshf2

Yeah, as the car is turning the the system processes how much the front wheels are turning and then turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction (to a max. of 1 degree) depending on how much the front wheels have turned.

Exactly, these cars are fun  and $900? You should have got it!

My wife had one of those GT-R cars sorta like the one in in your sig greekwarrior. The steering was great and it had some nice power. That was quite a while ago and the import cost was A$8000.

Well 900 and it needed a radiator, new battery, and a new clutch...plus it was in VA and I needed to have it trailered down...so it would have been alot more costs involved

are there anything bad about the s15 motor? any problems with it? and people say that the 6 speed tranny sucks. how does it suck? is there like some problems with it?

Maybe it cant handle too much power..

Is a Silvia a 240sx? Just in japan they call it silvias? Are they the same car with the same engine??

posted by  CarEXPERT

Yeah basicly, they are different cars but they are virtually the same. Same engine as well. :pop:

Grammar, you mean?

i'm not sure who said it, but i just wanted to clear up that the japanese silvias and the 240SX had different engines, while the 240SX has the KA24DE the japanese silvias have SR20DET engines in them, and each of the models of silvia has a different color on the top of the engine

posted by  240SXSR20DET

Yea there is a Red top and a Black top, some people like 1 more than the other. A lot of shops won't know a damn difference between the two. I've heard cases where it had a diff color on it than what the engine was. And also HICAS seems to be problamatic, I'm glad my car didn't come with it. Juss turbo the KA twin cam. Cause erryone has a SR.

 :tard: And to think it took this long for someone to pick that up.

posted by  GreekWarrior

Not only found on Skyline's...but 300ZX's had Super HICAS and the 240SX's S13's had one too...it was supposed to be similar to what they had on the Prelude 4WS

posted by  NISSANSPDR

The only thing bad about the S15 drivetrain was that the drifters (in Japan) started bad mouthing the 6 speed about it being weak...so they prefered the S14 tranny but still liked the S15 as a car and for it's motor
