now that I think about it, how much horsepower do you think that 'Vette lost from the engine to the rear wheels?

posted by  TurboLag

I have no idea, but i wonder if it could still do a pretty nice burnout or still be able to peel off.

posted by  car_crazy89

Only 1 way to find out! :hi: :hi:

posted by  TurboLag

Haha, i like how you think :hi:. Imagine pulling up to grad (or your wedding) in a Corvette limo, doing it at grad would get attention drawn to you.

posted by  car_crazy89

Man, I can only dream....

posted by  TurboLag

Still, even though the diff's farther away, it shouldn't lose that much power. Maybe 25%, tops. And even then, it'll still have what....300 hp? lol Plus with the lower amount of weight over the real wheels, it could definitely burnout with ease.

posted by  Juhosaphat

diff being farther away shouldn't affect it .... except for a few extra bearings, joints etc... and I'd have thought 25% loss in the drivetrain would be a bit extreme.

posted by  windsonian

yeah, 25% is pretty doomfull, I was under the impression that a car lost about 13-15%from the crank to the wheels.

posted by  Zalight

The RX7 limo must have a very uncomfortable ride and the handling must suck!

I would like to see those turn corners :hi: Actually, I would also like to run a Semi truck through that Corvette. Wasnt anything special anyway lol

Actually, that's a Beetle cup road racing car. A one marque race series in Europe that is very popular. Those are cool race cars.

IIRC, those are the all wheel drive RS versions of the Beetle. You can get a street version from VW, too, called the "cup edition" it's the 1.8 turbo and AWD, and can be very fast.

I had wanted to do this stretch limo idea with an original Beetle.

But it's been done many times...

That pic is kinda funny looking, seeing that many Beetles at one time coming at you. And ChrisV, you could still do the limo thing with an original beetle but do other things with it that havent been done, like maybe make the limo but chop the top, or make it convertible, lambo doors, or maybe chop the top AND add lambo doors and maybe some air ride if you really wanted to lol. You seem pretty creative, i bet you could figure something out.

Am I the only one that finds it ironic that turbolag is trashing these modified vehicles... and yet has that poor butchered Eclipse in his/her signature?

posted by  Bino

Does anybody else think that the Corvette, and the RX-7 are done by Photoshop? Because I don't think you could really go anywhere in a 50-ish foot Vette... :screwy:

posted by  chris_knows

Could be photoshop, you never know. Pretty much the only place you could go in a vehhicle that long is straight (would take too much/long to turn).

posted by  car_crazy89

Are you complaining about the riceyness of the beetle? Cuz the car in ur sig is really ricey.

posted by  Oomba

No I know for sure that RX-7 is real, I have seen many a pic of it.

posted by  Zalight

Butchered? Hardly. Dramatically improved is more like it. No one should punish an RX-7 or a corvette like that

posted by  TurboLag

Everyone knows beetles aren't ricey. Germans dont eat rice, they eat bundt-cakes.

posted by  TurboLag

actually...those look pretty legit man.

but still EFFED up

If you look at the window that looks partially way up where the door is open on the vette, it looks really fake, and why would the side windows be tinted and not the passenger window and the back window? The more you look at it, the more things you notice that makes it look fake.

posted by  jarvisx2000

the window thats way up, is not actually a window, it is a mirror. it reflects the edge of the car and the ground.

passenger window = non tinted, because in that state, its probably illegal. most limos don't have tint on any of the front windows.

as for rear window being non tinted, probably illegal as well.

but what you didnt notice, is that the "window" which is a mirror, accurately reflects the ground, the reflection across the whole top of the car is uniform, the cut out for the door is right, the shadow the door casts is fine, and the shadow line across the ground is fine, the reflection line on the car(on the side facing us) is also fine, and there is no "fake" lines anywhere on the car that would evidence any cut and paste/color mismatch.

posted by  dodgerforlife

Ricer style can be applied to any car of any make. I've seen plenty of ruined Mustangs and really sad Tempos to justify this statement.

posted by  Oomba

I'm pretty sure they were just kidding...

posted by  chris_knows

When i said window, I meant the window that looks as if it is rolled down, the lines look very choppy, Its almost as if there is a peice of glass missing, and considering that long window is all one peice, its not like you can roll it up, and if you picture shutting the door, there would be an open gap right there.

posted by  jarvisx2000

Well I must be wrong, I just googled it and found a few more pictures of that car, there must be a shadow over that window in that picture.

posted by  jarvisx2000

I'm kinda having trouble figuring that one out...I don't see any windows that look rolled down :ohcrap:

as for the door thing, its sorta a t-top style door, meaning that part of the roof lifts as the door(hence the mirror), there would be door pillars when its shut, it would be noticable...or at least i think lol

posted by  dodgerforlife

The definition of a ricer is a car with a paintjob, bodykit, wheels, lowering and nos with nothing else done to the engine. That Beetle is not a ricer but a racer

posted by  99integra

The Vette's real. All of the lines match up, along with the shadows and anything else that would prove it to be false. Plus, when you can find more pics of it on google, that kind of tells you something right there ;)

posted by  Juhosaphat

Butchered. A stock Black '99 GSX looks 1000 times better than that wide body/park benched POS in your sig.

posted by  Bino

Have you been sniffin' glue or something?

posted by  TurboLag

I haven't sniffed enough glue to make that car look good. Maybe I need to beer bong a few quarts of Bud with my head in a plastic bag full of glue? That's definitely a double-bagger car.

posted by  Bino

Well live with it :fu: .

I don't recall asking you to remove it.

That rx7 is sweet.

posted by  GreekWarrior

ok it's not butchered but it's closer to butchered than good looking. a plain stock Skyline GT-R looks much better

posted by  jedimario

WOW but the beetls have always been pretty retarted but the rx-7 and the vette that is just to ****ing bad man :cussing: :cussing: :fu: :fu:

i can't agree with you more. i bet that beetle handles like a go-kart.
