Boom Boom?

Home  \  European Imports  \  Boom Boom?

Here is my baby. Picked it up two weeks ago. On the list are
1. Ansa Performance Exhaust (specific for this car)
2. Euro Elma H-1 Headlights
3. Alluminum triangle grille (already in the mail)
4. Borbet 16" 5x98mm 5-star euro wheels (on order)
5. A good engine detailing
6. Stiffer lowering springs 30mm

The install for the audio was done by myself over the course of a a few days, the electrical system on this thing is a bitch.

Battery is in the trunk (behind amp) for those of you wondering.

Nice car but how much has it broken down lately?

Actually the car is incredibly reliable. Consumes a bit of oil but that's common on alfas

Thats actually a first, a reliable Alfa

I don't think the front end could be any uglier though, what's with the triangle.

I think its cool looking and its called a grill

And I suppose you like the front end on the new Subaru Impreza's also?

too bad it's got a .30 drag coeficient (amazing for a 1992 car) and is capped at 148mph with the restrictor chip.....not to mention amazing handling and over 200ft/lbs torque. You are one of the many who hate the design, i dont blame you, you simply lack the capacity to comprehend the art of pinifarina....

The notoriousness of alfas being unreliable is relative. an older alfa has alot more quirks than a newer one. Thats why you see alot of older alfas with low mielage (just like ferraris). They spend one week on the road and demand one weekend at the shop. But they are worth every ounce of trouble, not to mention they are very exclusive. Who doesent have a bimmer or a porsche nowadays. An alfa will definatelly get you looks.

You may not lack the ability to comprehend beauty but you obviously lack the ability to take a joke, or, be sensible for that matter. I never asked for your negative critisism so for the sake of order please keep your unproductive comments to yourself next time.

He just stated an opinion but other than that I want your car

If you don't want an opinion of your car then don't post 10 pictures of it :2cents:

It's the f*cking traditional Alfa grille!!!! Are you mental?

God damn! ZERO appreciation for cars. And zero desire to appreciate fine cars.Iif you have no desire to appreciate automotive history, or the fine cars of the world, get the f8ck out. I'm tired of closed minded kids that think that only a couple new cars are worth owning.

Did you ever hear the phrase, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?"

When did it become acceptable to be as rude and have as little tact as you show?

You think I'm being rude in response? I'm giving my opinion of YOU. If you don't want people to give their opinions of YOU, dont' f*cking post on a forum. Remember, I'm only giving YOU a taste of what you give others.

I don't see how me thinking a car is ugly makes you so mad,

You are being just as rude as you claim me to be. And you make it sound as if I got mad at you for posting your opinion.

"God damn! ZERO appreciation for cars. And zero desire to appreciate fine cars.Iif you have no desire to appreciate automotive history, or the fine cars of the world, get the f8ck out. I'm tired of closed minded kids that think that only a couple new cars are worth owning."

I am not sure what role this car plays in automotive history, I am sure it's a nice car and all but no matter what you say I still think it is ugly. And that doesn't make me a closed minded kid. I like many different cars but that doesn't mean I am going to like every single car that you consider to be one of the fine cars of the world. I am sure there are cars that you think are ugly and I would disagree with you, doesn't mean I would freak out about it though.

ok jarvisx2000, what are you driving? how about you tell us so we can make fun of it and say how ugly it is? i think that would be fun, don't you? :guns: :finger: :fu:

Is that a JL W7 I see or some knock off? Also what MTX amp is that?

posted by  thunderbird1100

You didn't just express your opinion of its ugliness, you expected everyone elso to think it was ugly too, and then ridiculed their opinions. Not in so many words, but I think what you said was "And I suppose you like the front end on the new Subaru Impreza's also?". So what?!?!? Sure you're allowed to think it's ugly, but it doesn't mean anyone else has to ... or that you should try to sway opinions of this car or imprezas etc etc..

posted by  windsonian

I know its not a W7, there would be a small insignia on the edge of the cone, plus the surround isnt large enough....

as for the amp...looks to be out of the MXA series, probably the MXA4001..(correct me if im wrong bonatto)

posted by  dodgerforlife

I know the W7 has the little logo, but maybe it was taken off? I cant think of another sub that looks like that. Maybe a W6v2? Damn this is killing me not know what it is. Would help probably if i could see the motor!!!!

posted by  thunderbird1100

Hehe Its an MB Quart PWE 304. The rubber surround is actually inverted onthis model very VERY clear sound, not at all a show off sub. The amp is an MXA4002. For the money its an amazing amp. The distortion (i dont know it off the top of my head) is well bellow human hearing spectrum, but unfortunately wont go as low as my sub can handle.

The lower end (which are still high end compared to stuff in the same pricerange) ones are fabric treated cones i belive. alof ot the mid's they have are also like that. This one is either a treated paper or poly cone, i dont know off the top of my head. Either way, its an amazing sub, not to mention amzing looking

Ahh, you figured it out. THAT WAS THE POINT. I was intentionally being rude to you in response. And apparently you don't like it when it's done to you. Maybe you'll learn something.

And that's the other point. You don't know, and you don't WANT to know. You simply wanted to insult someone about their car. And you can't figure out what's wrong with that? You think that you can justify your insult by claiming ignorance? As if it's ok to insult something if you remind people you don't know anything about it?

And people say I'm arrogant. I can't hold a candle to the real pros here...

Refusing to learn about it, and state that opinions are set in stone even though they are based in ignorance, certainly DOES make you closed minded. It's the definition of the term.

And I thought you might have gotten the point, but here it shows you haven't. There might be cars I find ugly, but if someone posts one as their pride and joy, I woudn't be f8cking insulting them at the first chance I get! Unlike YOU.

probably Poly :) As for an amazing sub, couldn't tell you that. They have them here in a store in town, but I've never listened to them, and at that, it isn't an accurate reflection(store displays). As for the looks, definitely clean-looking, which is nice to see for a change.

Ever heard of Focal audio? They have some pretty amazing subs, I'd imagine they are quite close to MB Quartz, for sound and price.
