Is there anyone here who has put a Rover V8 into a Triumph Spitfire? I believe this 3.5L aluminum block is lighter than the GT6 and would result in better weight balance. However, what are some of the major issues with this conversion?
Google search, second hit on the page:
The Rover V8 is in actuality a Buick 215ci V8, Rover purchased the design/IP from GM quite some time ago.
I helped a guy do the finish work on one when I lived in the UK. Don't
have any details on it except to say that it was a beast. Se if these
So far so good, thanks for your reply...I think I'll go ahead and pull the engine and tranny out of the project TR8 that I couldn't get running because of the electronic fuel injection. Besides, I'm not into the look of the TR8. So the swap will go into the Triumph Spitfire or one of my MGBs, cars I like but way underpowered.
Cool, have fun. Be sure to put pics up please!
