Maybe it's just me, but I think that front end is rediculously ugly.

Kinda looks like the Batmobile...but I see where you're coming from.

WOW that is one nice looking car, that is the maybach exelro right? :soul:

Yup, here's another picture from their website, just that it's Exelero :wink2:

Don't really like the rear too much, but the inside would probably be like heaven!!

The wheels in that pic are totally out of place...but that car is just....nuts!

I love how the hood is elongated and the cabin is set more toward the back of the car.

posted by  newyorker

It doesn't really look like a production car, more like something someone built...It doesn't have that clean factory look. Especially the front...and again..the wheels.

Well look at it this way. There are divisions to companies like Mercedes and BMW such as Brabus, and there is one for BMW i just cant recall from the top of my head. Wheels look nice. Car looks good, but it probbably is one of about 5 made.

Maybach is sick. This guy that runs a rotary shop in the burque used to be a mechainc on the maybach project and says they are built like tanks.

Good times

Also nice. Love the taillights. Koenigsegg CC..seems like people in europe love expensive exotics lol

posted by  newyorker

No really? I had no idea. What has that got to do with anything?

posted by  Mathew

Looks kinda weird, IMO. But it should be pretty interesting to drive...especially handling from that far back. Not that I'll ever get the chance. :banghead:

Power-wise it has 700 horsepower. It's a V-12 and since it's designed to test some high-speed tire for German Fulda, it can surpass 188mph. 0-55 (IDK why not 60, but w.e) in 4.4 seconds and has two turbochargers. 740ft/lbs of torque! The interior probably looks like it does on any maybach. What the heck is the price tag on one of these though?

Sorry for the late post, but here is the interior of the car. You were right it is like heaven

Where does it say that she's a concept?

posted by  chris_knows

The Road & Track article I read about it a few months ago...

I choose to remove your reality, and substitute my own

Doesn't really make a difference to me though I guess...the only place I'd see one is at an auto show, and they'd still show them there as concepts...

posted by  chris_knows

I love the Maybach, as a concept and as a reality. A coachbuilt custom personal luxury coupe that is all about excess. Very much a throwback to the days of getting custom bodies on huge Deusenbergs and Rolls Royces.

For the heck of it, I did a quick PS of a revised nose and mirrors...

This thing is the kind of car I'd love to build...

nice Chris!

It may be a concept, but it's a fully functioning car.

This thing reminds me of the old sleek steam locomotives. Not quite this one but something similar.

That'd be beautiful to see in person, or even sit in :hi::drool:

Is there an estimated price tag?

posted by  Nissan_Altima

It's a concept, so I highly doubt it...

Na nannananananananananananana BATMAN!

I love the Exelero.

Correction. Its not a concept. It was a car Maybach built for a company named Fulda tires, so that they could do tire tests at high speeds.

posted by  PontiacFan27

Now, I'm not telling you you're worng, stupid, ar anything like that, but why would Damiler-Chrysler go through all that to build a test car for a company when said company could go test their tires on the cars that the tires would actually be used on or some other high-performance car?

posted by  jedimario

He's right, though. This was a one off for Fulda to test and promote a new line of tires, called the Exelero. Fulda paid for it to be built. This is the second time that there has been a custom Maybach built for Fulda, the last being in 1938:
