Ok, they must have been testing this car in the amazon rainforest looking at that camo, but anywho...


Like it says, VW has basically taken over Proton/Lotus.



Reportedly will cost over 110,000 euros, but probably less in the US.



I'm interested... this car will hopefully bring Lotus much needed publicity.

id say in pounds, the car would cost around £50,000
but im glad lotus are bringing back the Esprit!!!

Doesn't really look like an Esprit, but from what I see, it does look nice...

Needs to be another turbo motor. I love those modified espirits I see everyonce in awhile. Anyone wanna translate 1200kgs into lbs for me.

i was going to say light!!! the Elise is under 1000kg
i think it sort of carries the same shape (although its hard to say in all that camo)

I think the colour just makes it looks like a Lamborghini.

The color and the shape to be honest. It looks almost 100% proportional to a gallardo.

no, GM owned lotus in the late 80's eraly 90's i think (at the time of the Lotus Carlton and that wedged shape corvette) then Proton owned them and now, apparently VW?

Guys after reviewing the pics closer I think the yellow one isnt the actual car I think its a photochop based off of the elise and the gallardo. Thats what it looks like at least. Look at the spy shot's cars headlights, side glass, and grille, they are not at all like the yellow one. I think the camoed one has much classier lines and will probably turn out to be a hansom vehicle.
