Aston Martin Vanquish:thumbs: , Ferrari 350, Lambo Gallardo? posted by  CarMAD!

veyron?? seems the obvious choice. posted by  bebopin64

Hard decision but I like the 360 CS, the Espirit (gotta love a supercar with an aftermarket), GT1, F1, 355, im sure there are a few more Im forgetting posted by  Enthusiast

The Espirit is like the worse built Supercar ever. I believe the best mechanical European supercar is the Porsche Carrera GT. Best looking I'd say an all black Lambo LP640 or a Novitec F430....or Ferrari 350 because they are so rare. posted by  What

bebopin64: Fastest doesn't mean best.

Pagani Zonda C12 F (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagani_Zonda). Light and fast. 600 HP, 2700 lbs. 7:32 lap at Nürburgring. Plus, it looks amazing, especially in silver. Too bad most people, especially Amis, have never heard of it. posted by  VitaminG

The Zonda is ugly, ass-heavy, and handles funny...according to reviews. And you can all stick those Nurburgring lap times up something because the advertised times are misconceiving. Driving fast along the Nurburgring has much more to do with the driver than the car. Porsche, BMW and such campaign their cars over there and they know the course very well...and it doesn't hurt that they often get the track to themselves. When cars like the Zonda goes, they do all kinds of non-production shit to the car and record the fastest of hundreds of laps. posted by  What

Zonda isn't exactly europian... even though it is produced in italy it is argentinian

I would say Koenigsegg CCR or CCX, veyron might have a slightly higher top speed or acceleration (I am not sure about the 2nd), but Koenigsegg looks so much better :2cents: posted by  ateymura

How do you mean the Zonda isn't exactly European? It has a Mercedes engine and is produced in Italy..... posted by  Cliffy

I am going to raise a lot of complaints by qouting wikipedia on here.. but anyone is welcome to protest:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagani_Zonda

Horacio Pagani the founder of Pagani Automobili S.P.A., and Juan Manuel Fangio (ex F1 driver) the other big name who influenced/inspired the super car are both Argentinian. posted by  ateymura

You could have found that info at their official site and been able to rest assured that the info hadn't been edited but some 12-yr old on his home PC...Still, it was acurate, lol. I say they are still as European as Jaguar is. (Jag has even less of Europe in them these days though...). posted by  Cliffy

as I said people can protest all they want... :) but I had checked the info on their officail page too.. it's just there you have to look for it... and on wiki its obvious.. unless you choose to not read the first few lines. posted by  ateymura

Pagani Automobili S.P.A (makers of Zonda) is Italian. Pagani is HQ's near Modena, Italy. The founder is from Argentina... doesn't make the brand Argentinian. Also, it is important to note that Argentina has a huge italian population, IIRC italians are the majority. 95% of the country is of european origin. So call it what you will.... That is just symantics though, the fact of the matter is that it is a sick car.

In any case. Best supercar from Europe? Classic: Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale and Lamborghini Miura. The 250SWB is also up there. Might count the Ford GT40 and Pantera GT5 if you consider them European enough.

Modern: Ferrari P4/5 or better yet... Ultima GTR (ya ya, kit car, whatever). posted by  rudypoochris

Caparo t1....its da best posted by  newyorker

Couldn't possibly count the GT40 European.... posted by  Cliffy

sure you can...the brakes are german, etc.etc. it was in a long top gear movie i watched posted by  newyorker

No, the controversy was over English or American roots. In the end, the car is a Ford and Ford did all the work to setup up and backed it financially. Lola of Britan wanted to lay claim to it since the GT40 is based on a Lola chassis IIRC. They lost that one in any case since Ford was the owner and supplied the power. I was just throwing it in as a European since I like it so much.

Many cars include foreign parts. Toyotas and Hondas made in the USA aren't American, just as Fords and Chevys made in Canada and Mexico aren't foreign to the US. posted by  rudypoochris

lol ford is a ford and always be a domestic ford posted by  07exlv6
