The newest high-performance grand touring car from Ferrari, the 612
Scaglietti combines the performance of a Ferrari berlinetta with
comfortable seating for four occupants.
Thid 4-seat coupe features an all-aluminum space frame built by Ferrari at the Scaglietti light-alloy technologies facility, resulting in a 132-pound weight reduction from the 456M it replaces. The new spaceframe also has a 60 percent increase in structural rigidity for improved handling, comfort and occupant safety.
A 540-horsepower V12 engine powers the coupe, mounted behind the front axle for a front mid-engine layout that improves weight distribution and performance dynamics. In addition, both the transmission and the differential are mounted at the rear of the car to achieve a 46 percent/54 percent front/rear weight distribution.
The 6-speed gearbox is either fully manual or with the next-generation electro-hydraulic system that operates the clutch and changes gears when the driver flicks the paddles behind the steering wheel. The electro-hydraulic system can operate in an automatic mode, but the transmission is still a mechanical unit containing a clutch.
The Pininfarina-designed body is 5.5 inches longer than the 456M and adds additional rear-seat legroom and headroom for increased passenger comfort. The trunk can accommodate five pieces of Ferrari luggage or two golf bags.

IS THIS THEIR FIRST 4 SEATER?
Nope its there 3rd i think
what is it with these new cars they get uglier and uglier buy the secound :screwy:
The 456 GT has been around for a long time...and even in wagon form.
My choice for a Ferrari buy if I could afford one.
Wow. Didnt know about the wagon. The 612 looks so much like the 550/575, i like the designs. The dash needs work tho.
a Ferarri wagon? some one tell me in dreamin'!!!
nope...you aint dreaming...but only a few of these wagons were made for, guess who? the Sultan of Brunei. him and his hundreds of cars. :cussing:
Why would you want a 4 seater ferrari??
No reason different from liking a WRX or a Skyline...
The Scaglietti was deff based off of the 456 and yes, it does resemble the 550 a bit. And hey, who wouldn't want a 4-seater Ferrari. It's a Ferrari!!
ferrarichika!! You're back!
That interior looks roomy, although I'd have to shoot for some flat cream
or beige Ferrari leather. That blue shit looks like something out of an
Aliens movie. importluva, i have to agree with you on this one that dash is
terrible. N is that a cupholder? Haha no one would be drinking in my
$300,000 vehicle. A Ferrari wagon, damn thats a new one. They kinda soiled
themselves with that one, and a "Sultan" owns one? Hey is that they Arab
guy who owns an Enzo and all those over supercars?
I like those Modena tail lights, that car looks sexy.. They shold have made it a V8 the front pertrudes to much and makes it looks like a big penis car.
to me it looks so much like the Ferrari 550.
The interior looks diffrent but i like it.
The car itself looks hot
Im more of a lamborghini man myself
Yeah definately like the look of the 456 and the 612, The estate (wagon to
the yanks) is very cool, I could afford a 456 its the running costs that
would kill me, most ferraris are in for a cam belt change every 36k miles,
freind of mine who works at NATO runs a 412 as his every day car, lucky for
him he gets tax free fuel, drinks like a fish, they have a special motor
pool where they service the cars (becuase there income is tax free and
there genraly well paid lots of flash cars, he wife gets a new S Class
every 18 months, as a diplomatic perk) at a special rate, or it would be
about £3k ($5kUSD) every 12k mile service.
You can pick up a mid 90's 456 for about £25k-30k ($50k USD) which is far from out rageous, and it will hold its price well if you maintain it, its the running and maintainance which you will spend £10k ($18k USD) a yr on.
I saw one of this giant Ferraris on the motorway. I have seen it in pics..and i thought it was ugly..when i saw it in reality i still think its ugly..but very eye catching. I saw one in bright red , first thought it was an Fto, its massive..like an s-class mercedes. But apparently it goes well fast..but i would rather get an M6 and beat it
I think that the 612 is pretty cool, maybe ugly but pretty cool. There is
one 4 sale by me for £180,000!!!!
Having 4 seats means that you can take more people on trans-euro tours to Monte-Carlo etc. Or maybe just for the school run :screwy:
I dont think a 612 is a "soccer-mom" car for school runs... :hi:
But hey, whatever floats your boat!
the headlights/grille remind me of the late 60s/early 70s ferraris
I just got back from Paris, and while I was there I saw one of these beauties! I have a picture, but I have to wait for all 480 pics to load... Ill post it later...
