Question About the M3

Does the M3 come in Automatic at all or is it just manual?

hey there, which M3?

There's the E30 (older shape)
E36 newer shap and the E46 the current shape.

As far as I know, you could get all of them in Auto, but I wouldn't suspect the E30 would have many in auto guise, the E36 had the smg, which was for all intents and purposes an auto stirrer, and the E46 comes with the SMGII which is apparantly phenomenal, changes up in about .008s which is very fast for a gear change.

If you know the age, I'll know the variant and be able to answer more fully for you.

Cheers,

Despite what my name says, I know more about BMW's than any other cars, period.
Here's the lowdown:
E30 M3, S14 Engine, 200bhp, 5 Speed Manual.
E36 M3, S52 Engine, 286bhp, 321bhp for EVO, 5 Speed Manual, 5 Speed Automatic, SMG I, and 6 Speed Manual on the M3 EVO.
E46 M3, S54 Engine, 343bhp, 6 Speed Manual, SMG II(with auto and different levels of clutchless manual, depending on how aggressive your driving style is)

If you live in NA, figures are as follows:
E30 M3, 192bhp, 5 Speed Manual
E36 M3, 240bhp, 5 Speed Manual or 5 Speed Automatic
E46 M3, 333bhp, 6 Speed Manual, SMG II(with auto and different levels of clutchless manual, depending on how aggressive your driving style is)

Well, there you go. If you truly need an Auto, you have to go with the E36, but it is a great car, my dad has one.
