I love big American rear-wheel cars with front bench seat, like america used to make. Any fans here?:hi: posted by  ionosphere

I don't like what they do to our environment, i wouldn't like putting gas in them either. posted by  carls47807

Shut up, I'm freezing over here! lol posted by  chris_knows

I don't think the land yachts suck up more gas than the big trucks and suv's out there. I don't think the 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis I'm getting gets worse than other new vehicles out there. posted by  ionosphere

I also don't think the grand Marquis really count as land yachts any more, even though it comes the closest of any car out there. I guess you could call it the feeble remnants of a dying breed.
That being said, I don't mind a nice chevy Malibu or ford LTD every now and then. posted by  dvdrose18

We have a 1973 Buick Regal at work for sale, thing is crazy. I had to actually strain to lift the hood its so heavy. drives like a dream, started on the 2nd time, last inspected in 1988. I love it

I always wondered how hard it would be to really DRIVE an old musclecar with leather bench seats and no seatbelt, perhaps even a colomn shift. For the slow ones out there, I'm referring to the fact that it sounds mighty hard to stay put in your seat.

I love old musclecars and the looks of front bench seats, but I like being really held in place while driving. posted by  giant016

I love my land yacht with the front leather bench seat. :)

It's not that hard to stay in place. But then, it does have a seat belt and a center fold down armrest, plus the seats are soft enough to sink into so that pretty much eliminates any sliding...

And I LOVE these type of cars. If I didn't have to drive 500 miles a week I'd get one. I love them. posted by  3xBeam
