Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I've been tinkering with cars for many years. My
first car was a '72 Plymouth Cricket (my twin sister and I purchased it in
'80) . It was imported from Great Britain, and was universally considered a
real lemon, but I loved it. After it caught on fire and burned down to the
ground I bought a 76 Vega that was nearly new. It was a noisy ride, but
after the engine blew and we put a 350 engine in it we couldn't hear the
road noise over the sound of the engine anyway. We flew that baby right
into a ditch and totalled it out, then bought a '71 Plymouth 'Cuda. I
traded two cows and a Vega wagon for it. Mom thought we were going to kill
ourselves, so we had to trade it in for a '66 GMC pickup and a thousand
dollars cash. Believe it or not my mother's dying words to me was that she
should have never made me sell that hemi Cuda.
For many years I have owned and driven various Chevrolet Corvairs. I
especially enjoy the convertibles and the Rampside pickups. I have a Dodge
Ram 50 that is currently getting reworked, which thanks to AutoZone and
their expensive but cheap engines has been a nightmare.
