For full features; Go to 70' Camero Rally Sport Owner needs HELP!!
Hello to anyone who's interested! Is there anyone out there that can help
me with some knowledge for these old carburetors? I just spent about $400
and the mechanic said he 'cleaned' it; I asked why I didn't just get
another carburetor for that price and he said it's "as good as new"! Well,
it's not running like it's new. I had problems starting it and took it
back to the guy cuz I kept smelling gas; when he pulled off the air
cleaner, all I saw was gas spurting out everywhere! He 'fixed' it and now
it hardly has any power. Now, he said it's "something else" and I know that
means MORE MONEY!! I think all I need is to have the idle turned up, if
that makes sense. This car is a 350, 70 Camero. It's been in my husband's
family since 1970 and he was the mechanic that always worked on it. He
passed away last year and I'm lost- not only missing him, but his knowledge
and wisdom for this car. Before I bring the car back to this dude, I
thought I'd first see if anyone has any input or questions I can ask.
Thank You.

Who told you the problem was only the carburetor (sp?)?
Did you have it diagnosed fully by this guy or did you just take the carb
to be rebuilt expecting that was the only problem?

Sorry that I can't help, but just so you know, it's Camaro. That'll get
under some muscle-head's skin.
Anyways, there's no reason you can't bring the car somewhere else.
