I am new to the car scene, and I want to learn more about racing, in
particular about drag racing. Where does everyone go to find out the
newest, and most relevant information about the sport on the web?

You don't need "the newest, and most relevant information about the sport
on the web", you need to get involved with your local racing community.
Where do you live? City and state only, I don't want your address.

Well then, you're in luck. First you need to know what is available track
wise near you. You have three tracks withing a reasonable distance, one of
which you've already found. KCIR (http://www.kcir.net/~kcir/content/),
Heartland Park (http://hpt.com//store/catalog/drag.php) and US 36
(http://www.us36raceway.com/drag_strip_home.htm). Heartland Park is an
especially nice facility that hosts NHRA professional racing annually, but
they'll all have weekly racing that you can be involved in.
If you really want to learn more, the best way is to get directly involved.
First you need to attend some races to kind of see how things work, then
start introducing yourself around. As you get to know some of the racers
you'll find out who lives near you and most importantly who could use some
help. Bingo, you in on the bottom level and on track to learning by doing.

I will have to check out heartland and see what they having going on this
weekend

Looking at the schedule the place to be this weekend will be KCIR. That's
a pretty serious money race there. Should be cars from all over to
compete.
