KTR- Gumball 3000 through Spain
Some mates from the spanish forum I use to visit took some pictures from
cars running the Gumball 3000 race passing through Spain.
As advertising is prohibited here -at CF- I'll wait for permission to put
here the link to the related thread at the spanish forum.
Here comes an image (Bentley at North Alacant toll):
Algunos compañeros del foro español que suelo visitar tomaron algunas fotos
de coches corriendo la carrera Gumball 3000 que pasa por España-
Puesto que está prohibido hacer propaganda aquí -en CF- esperaré a que me
den permiso para poner aquí el link al tema relacionado en el foro
español.
Aquí viene una imagen (Bentley en el peaje del Norte de Alicante):
What kind of joke is that? :screwy:
Is this some sort of a race or something.... the Gumball 3000 I mean...
Do you remember the Cannonball? Sorta like that. Rich people with luxury
cars running at ilegal speeds.
¿Recordáis el Cannonball? Algo como éso. Gente rica con coches lujosos
corriendo a velocidades ilegales.
¿el foda?
Ahh... the Cannonball... great stuff...
Like hell, you have no clue what the Cannonball is.
:/ I'm sorry, but what do you mean? What's 'el foda'? I don't understand
:(
:/ lo siento pero, ¿qué quieres decir? ¿Qué es "el foda"? No lo entiendo :(
I thought it ment "The f*ck?"
Makes sense coming from you "Buz"
Look, here's a site from one of those mad guys that run in the Gumball.
Mirad, aquí hay un sitio de uno de esos tipos locos que corren en la
Gumball.

OK, dont know what you mean. Im curious as to what your going to put as your title now that your o ver 500 posts.
LOL yeah. Man I missed it, I should of brought my Bently out there and joined them! (*wishes*) Well I guess if you are going to spend the money to get a supercar you might as well enjoy it. I think that race is a really neat idea. Thanks for the post
I accidently posted my question to karburator twice. Sorry
Hey karburator, just a quick question. How long is the coarse and what kinds of speeds to they sustain driving through it? Oh yeah do they have to worry about law enforcement or do the cops let this just happen?
Well, it's a good question. I don't know. I guess they drive as fast as
their cars could run. As cars in europe are not auto-limited at 110 mph
like in Jappan, they can easily run at speeds up to 150 mph (maybe near 180
mph).
About law enforcement - The police doesn't appear to be worried about this.
After all, 'ice-cream vans' like the ones that uses our police have nothing
to do against the cars running the Gumball :D (see picure below).
Try uncle google for further information.
Some known people running the Gumball:

archrivals of Jeremy Clarkson. Determined to drive him into the ground.
50 Cent – Rap Star
Johnny Knoxville, of Jackass fame.

show

Great site!

Man that has got to seriously tear your car apart. Running at those speeds
for so long. I mean I know they are super cars but this sounds like a
freakin' Need For Speed video game doesn't it??
By the way........I feel for your law enforcement. Man that would suck
having to drive that thing

I asked Unfedfat to link the thread about the 2004 Gumball 3000 from the
spanish forum I use to visit and he gave me permission to do that. So, here
it is:
Pregunté a Unfedfat para enlazar el tema sobre la Gumball 3000 2004 desde

Enjoy it!
¡Disfrutadlo!
wow that is a great link. I love looking at all the other cars and have realised that I can still understand spanish. Thanks for posting it
Nice site... lots of SPANISH!!!!
yeah :wink2:
The course is 3000 miles long, they hit speeds in excess of 210 mph and the cops catch them and fine them on the spot... But because the participants have money that is part of the fun of it..
yea, last year it was in USA, n there was a guy with a koenigsegg CC, and
he got side tracked cuz he lost his gas cap (way to go). he just bought an
old beetle from some old people, replaced his gas cap with the beetle's,
and returned the rest of the car (he paid around $2,000 for the beetle),
then he just got on the highway and sped the damn thing for wat its worth.
its rumored hes got a video of himself doing 230mph or more, but he was
behind by almost 2 hours, and he caught up so freaking fast it was
incredible.
u guys should look for videos by Lonman (one of the very popular drivers,
SL55 and a GT2 porsche), and the famous fire spewing Max Power 8 series BMW
(max power is a very famous mag). oh, and the polizie BMW which competes
and even dares to stop all the other competitors in the rally.
u see everything though, from the ferrari enzo, to vipers crashing at
150mph, to escort cosworths getting trashed, to even scoobies daring to go
up against these monsters, SUV's, escalade pick ups, EVERYTHING. even a
skyline joined in on the fun in this year's competition.
if u like these types of footage and dvds, just look for cannonball run,
gumball rally, players run, etc.
