Favourite Style/Type of Automotive Racing

So what is everyone's favourite style or type racing and does this affect the type of car you own or would like to own (if that is possible I.e. F1).

At the moment I am quite into the WRC circuit but I work with a guy who is a F1 Nut. So while he is not able to buy a F1 car I could at least buy a Subaru or a Mitsubishi and it would at least look about the same. I know that the WRC it a totally different vehicle but I can still pretend LOL. Not sure if the NASCAR guy feel the same or not.

PS I do not consider “Street Racing” racing.

oh its nascar all the way. nascar is better than any other racing series. but i do like rally also. and oval dirt tack racing is awesome too. actually i like pretty much all car racing

I am a complete rally nut as well. I think that the Dakar rally is rally at one of it's purest forms. I think that the FIA WRC is on the same path as the F1 circuit, and that the drivers will soon all be primadonnas...The SCCA is some great, real rally...not that the WRC isn't real, but I don't like how comercialized it is getting...guess thats just a part of becoming popular...oh well. NASCAR (Nextel) is cool just becuase they are going 200+ inches from one another. Indy and F1 type racing is cool just because open wheel racing is intense. Touring Car/Le Mans series stuff is awesome becuase they have most of the cool cars from around the world--and it is just like GT3!! :clap:

Ok, gentleman, I will give you that NASCAR, ralley and drifting are sweet...(especially drifting) but why all the hate about street racing Caffinated. LOL. Ok, sure it may be slightly illegal---but isn't that half the fun. Seriously, though, you can't leave out drag racing. There's nothin' like kicking the crap out of some poor guy in 10 seconds flat.

Mazda6 man--I've read quite a few of your posts. You really seem to know a lot about drifting. I'm intrigued. Do you know all this from watching or do you have hands on experience?!? I'd love to know....

All racing is good, some for it's speed, some for it's technology, some for the unusualness and some for the danger. I agree with all of the above but would like to add boat drag racing and all forms of bike racing... Both fast and very very dangerous... :mrgreen: To answer the qusetion.. I don't have a favorite, i just like all forms of going fast...! :thumbs:

Dunno about you, but F1 bores me to tears lol, the cars just look exactly the same Grrrr. Well, I dont really watch any motor racing but if I had to pick a favourite it would be a cross between Touring car racing or Rallying, cant be rallying as it used to be though..Mk1 Escorts all the way lol :thumbs:

Yeah, F1 is boring to watch but i like the technology used. :hi: . He he he.. There is a guy near me who has a Mk 1 Escort and he has a 5.7 Chevy V8 in it.. Sounds SWEEEEEEEEETTT!! :drool: :drool: :drool:

WRC all the way
F1 isnt boring, but the outcome usually is *Cough* Schumacker *cough*.
Dakar is cool as well, but i dont ever get to see much of it - highlights and stops etc... i'd prefer to see a bit more of it myself.

Also, not just as far as F1 is concerned, but all forms of motor racing, how can one possibly watch it at the track itself..surely you only see the cars when they zoom past, after that you have a long wit till the next car 'zooms' past lol..or maybe it doesn't quite work like that lol. As for the 5.7 Chevy lump in an Escort..... :drool: <
