Has anyone heard of the smart car by zap? They're supposed to get 60 miles to the gallon. They also look pretty safe with dual airbags. Does anyone know what they cost?

cost = 15-25k

They do look safe, but don't get sucked in by marketing schemes, like dual airbags.

I thought so too.

Based on that article, I have a question. Is the smart car not on the road in the U.S yet? Cause we have had them in Canada for a good six months already.

hahaha safe? Yah right. I'd feel real safe driving 70mph in a car that's 6 feet long, 4 feet high and 4 feet wide......... Wouldn't it be nice to get in an accident with a truck or SUV? I wanna just push those things over, their center of balance must just be horrid. They're so ugly, why didn't they give them to the U.S.A. instead of us?

They're made by mercedes by the way.

I don't think the center of balance would be that bad, the engine is under the floor.

And wow, Seeing them here is now common, I'm surprised the U.S. doesn't have them yet. We had one in our shop, we got to poke and prod at it. I don't really like them that much.

They're designed for city driving, and are supposed to get 50 miles to the gallon. C/D got 37.

Oh, and btw, it has a top speed of 84 mph. :smoke: Talk about a chick magnet. :hi:
