So, has anyone bought one yet?
Very cool device. I'm seeing how long I can hold out before I end up purchasing one (historically, chances aren't very good that I will show restraint for long :p ).
If you picked one up today, what do you think of it?
How does it compare to the DS (admittedly, one of the reasons I didn't get it today is that between my PDA and DS, I really don't need one other than for the 'gadget' factor)?
i havnt experience the psp yet. but the DS i have.
the DS screen sucks! its small and i dont get whats the deal with the split screen thing? the DS screen seems to be a bit blurry. takes the fun out of the games. and as for the handling, it sucks. i dont like the DS i got bored of it instantly. hopefully the PSP is nothing like the DS.
These are what the games look like.

This is a working one from japan.
I haven't picked one up yet. The $250+ price tag is a bit hefty and
reports say that overall the PSP reception is a little lukewarm (there are
still plenty available).
I saw someone with it at work and I was shocked to see how small the overall device was but the screen was gigantic and clear. He was playing NBA Street and it looked awesome.
I have also been reading about people hacking away at it and oepning up some cool features like full internet access after hacking the browser, moving TiVO recordings onto it, and loading ebooks on the PSP. Sounds like this device is going to be good for everything.
So, it comes down to the release of an AWESOME game or a price drop until I buy it, but it will defintely be purchased eventually.
Looks cool, great games, nice features. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This thing plays music, movies, games...it's insane...
Was just reading that they are goign to start releasing them with internet access in Korea. I bet the US isn't oo far away. That will be awesome. If only it could make phone calls...
it has to be the most sex appealing thing invented in the new millenium......
Supposedly a bunch of them have problems with Dead Pixels. Another reason to wait a while to see if it gets cleared up.
Yes like Inygknok said, so sexy. DS doesn't even compare.
But not having too much cash and already having my own (cheap) music gadget, I think I'll wait and save up for the PS3 in late 2006. If I were to get a job and start earning some $$, I'd probably spend it on PS2 games anyways. (Gotta have GT4!)
PSP looks like a great system. The only reason I'm not forking over $250
for one is because its just that: Two-hundred and fifty dollars! If the
gaming selection were a bit bigger, and the games cheaper (they go from
$30-$50) I would probably buy one. But wait... It plays music and videos
too?!?!? If I didn't have an iPod already, I would have have bought it so
fast, regardless of the games and how much they cost! I'll wait it out a
bit and see where Sony goes with it.
By the way, Gran Turismo is not on the game list for PSP in America. Sorry guys, I'm disappointed too... :banghead:
What about Australia?
