Personalized license plates

Does anyone know how much it costs to get these and how much trouble it is, I really don't want to have to go to the DMV and wait forever there, so i thought this would be easier. Any knowledge of this I'm happy to hear, thanks.

You should be able to make an appt with your makes life a lot easier!! What normally might take an hour or two...with an appt. I'm usually out in 20 minutes or so...including p/u of personalized plates.

Maryland probably has the same number of people in the whole state as we do in LA County alone.

my friend had vanity plates on his car in IL, and he said they don't cost any more than regular plates if you have at least one number in it.... is that still the same?

I live in SC. My dad had one on a Miata, and from what I remember it was about $80-$100 and didn't take too long to get. I think he mailed some kind of form in to get it.

in Maryland, vanity plates are an additional $25 per year. For more information, you can call 1-800-950-1MVA (1682) so you don't have to stand in line. (I've spent 4 hours at the MVA just to get plates...)

I don't really think it's worth to pay for a personalized license plate. Sure it looks good if you personalize it right but then again your paying more just cause you want some letters or numbers in a certain order.

Are you talking about the background scenes, or spelling something out with the letters?

Yep, do you live here?

No, I'm talking about vanity plates, which are the ones that are your own words. the other plates (like the Chesapeake Bay ones, the farm ones, and the specialty plates like college alumni or pets plates) have their own fee schedules.
