I can't wait to go. My friend and I have been working on our car non-stop for the past couple of days tryin to keep the hood down. We only get 4 strands of wire. No chains. So thats kinda dangerous for us. I'll have my girlfriend with me down by the pits while I'm waitin to line up, and my friends in the grandstands with the camera. I'll be back late tonight with pictures for you guys. It's my girl's B-day today so I wanna take home that trophie for her.
Sweet dude! Good luck! What car are you using?
Im using a Lincoln Town Car I bought for 400 bucks.
That sounds pretty sweet, thats one thing i'd like to do sometime. You gonna put up before and after pics of your ride. Good Luck
doubt it. It's nothing to really be proud of. It's already got frame damage, smashed up rear end (From the last derby I was in) and some other shit wrong too. Personally I'd just be happy to make it through the event. My tranny is DEAD.
Well i'm not sure what would be worse, the frame damage or the tranny. Its worth a try lol, you dont have much too lose.
Lol. I didnt even know that you did derbies... Good luck!
kill 'em for me satty...kill em good.
Sorry I just watched sin city for the 6 millionth time. :screwy:
But en serio, good luck, son! have fun!
Good luck man, can't wait to see pics...
do it for cf!!!
That is such an awesome movie!
Dammit Wish I Was There To Run Into Ya!!!!!!!!! Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive never been to a derby. Good luck. I cant wait to see some pics
My damn Lincoln took a shit on me when we were loading it onto the trailer (Wanted to drive it to get the feeling of it) so I took my back-up car that I had for next year's derby. 95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2-door. It ran pretty damn good, considering I was up against a few full-sized 80s boats. But I got knocked out reletivly early. I have a few pics and some videos, but I don't feel like uploading them yet. Tommorrow after work I'll get them up for you guys. Still kinda pissed my Lincoln did that to me. I wanted to use that 5.0 sooo bad. Oh well. Get a used tranny and I'll be running it next year. I actually got bruised up a bit and smashed the f*ck outta my right index finger, and I have a crapload of scratches from working on the Cutlass, but besides that, and a bit of whiplash, I'm all good. Took home no money, no trophie, but I gave my GF a $400 bracelet today anyways. All in all, a good day. And I completely forgot to take before and after pics of the car for you guys. Sorry bout that. Pics up tommorrow.
Picture. My Cutlass just after I had to stop. Damn radiator...
Blame my friend Jack for how blurry it is. I got a few good hits off camera, and damn near lost my helmet. He did get a couple of good hits on camera. seemed like he was concentrating on a brown wagon though. Oh well. Videos and most/the rest of the pictures after work...
Hey Satty, my brother has an old Delta 88 if your interested. Heck, you could probably have it if you haul it. No motor or trans though so you'll have to take care of that yourself. Let me know.
I don't know where I'd pick up an engine or trans though. But keep in touch, I'll think about it.
Not sure how your fabrication skills are but you could always put in your 5.0 and just weld up some mounts. Either way, the car is not going anywhere anytime soon. I should mention that it is up in Sheboygan however.
damn, looks like ya where running with some big ones, couple 70s impalas and a ford wagon. cant tell for sure. whered ya run at?
wow, must take some real nuts to be in a Demo derby, Satty. good stuff
There we go! What year? Please tell me its one of the big heavy 70s ones. No one else will stand a chance if you run one of those
Oh well... sorry about what happened. PUT UP SOME VIDS (when you can.)
Walworth county fair ground I believe it was Adam.
Upon looking at my car further today, before I junked it, I noticed the fuel railshad been knocked off. How? I have no clue. But I guess that would be the reason I couldn't restart the car. I just figured it overheated. My gauges didn't work. which is why I picked up the car for so cheap.
ok, more pictures
second to last picture is of my buddy Jack's truck who we towed in the Cutlass with. And one last thing, car #110 is a Cadillac. Not only is it a Cadillac, but it's a FWD Cadillac. And it just beat the crap out of that yellow wagon. As you can see. lol. Ok, time to go see if I could host the videos...
The Lincoln was an 88. But like I said, the tranny took a dump on me. I'm debating junking it because I know my uncle doesn't want it sitting in his yard. lol. So I'm debating getting a new tranny, or sending it off to the junkyard. I'll find out the price for a new tranny tommorrow at work. if it's over 1G, I'm junking the car and just buying another demo-car.
if it was me id just junk it, if its already trashed ya might as well.
youll get close to a hundred back anyways and those lincolns are a dime a
dozen, hell ive got one right now.
its my huntington wv civic center car.
that looks like fun. If you only paid 400 for the car I would just junk it. Not worth paying for a tranny if its trashed IMO
I just tried to upload some videos and it's not working...sorry guys. I nailed a white wagon painted like a cow..
Sorry... just keep trying!
I'll see if they work after work tonight.
You have some nice action picts above.
Except that they are REALLY shakey. :screwy:
Yeah, idk why he can't hold still....It's not like it was cold or
Oh right, videos
