Well, I got a new pet. First a lil bout myself, I love animals, but I am a
dog person. I like everything there is about them and if I could, I would
have a large house so I could have many of them. However, I am a college
age student that rents a 1 bedroom place that is large, but not large
enough. I like big dogs, small dogs i tend to sit on. SO anyhoo, my place
to too small to get the size dog I want, so I decided that I could provide
a good home to another animal. A cat.
I picked up my cat yesterday at the humaine society in Iowa City. Most of these animals are strays and or mistreated animals looking for a good home, else they are put to sleep. They have a lot of young kittens, but that isnt what I wanted, those will find a home easily enough. Instead I got a 2 year old cat whose name is Lance.
When I stopped in serveral days ago, he came up to me right away and for the duration of the time I spent looking at the cats, he was right there either in my arms or sitting in my lap. Great personality.
So anyways I now have a cat, but he is hard to take pictures of:
It's so cute...Congratulations
Awww nice pussy
I might have known we could trust you to say something like that lol....or
maybe it's me with the filthy mind?
But yeah...nice pussy, I have a cat just like that, we've had her sinse she was a Kitten, she's called Bella...(Dont ask....ever heard of the Tweenies? lol...)
She has a white chest and paws though. We were gonna get her sister, too....she had a white mouth and we were gonna call her Charlie
That's a nice cat. You're right about the kittens going quick. The last cat we got was 2 years old when we got it, and they had it in a cage for a year before we came and got it. Kinda sad.
One mean pussy (mousehunt)
Lance is gorgeous. I like that shot of him just kinda minding his own business on the window sill
Good on you for getting a two year old cat. Most people want a cute baby kitten, so you probably saved this guy's life.
Aww!!! I love black cats! Good Luck with this new chapter of your life.
Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Although I'm also a
dog guy, I love my kitty kids and have found them to be an important part
of the family thoughout my almost half century. Too many people don't know
what their missing because they insist that cats serve no purpose, and
technically they may be right, but as long as they make you happy thats all
that really counts.
If nobody minds I'd like to extend this to the "show us your pussy" thread. We have three. Two of them are SPCA rescues that we got at the age of about four weeks and they're almost two now. They're brothers and have never been been more than about 50 feet apart except on the day they got fixed. The reason we took both of them is because I didn't have the heart to break up the pair.
This is Lokie Johanssen, AKA Lokie Dokie, Lokie-Wan Kenobi, Blades and get out of the shower and leave me alone, dumbass;
This is Balder Johanssen, AKA Zoolander, Fuzzy, Floppy and get off the keyboard when I'm trying to type and leave me alone, dumbass.
Last but not least is the one I found at a used car lot getting kicked and sprayed with water. After I personally made sure the person doing that knew exactly how I felt about his actions, and how it felt to be kicked around and sprayed with a hose (I have zero tolerance for trash that abuses kids or animals), I gathered the little guy up and brought him home. He was about seven weeks old at he time and he's a little over a year old now.
This is Finn McKool, AKA LFB (Little Fat Bastard), Roadkill, Tubby Tabby and get off my face while I'm trying to sleep and leave me alone, dumbass.
Sorry for hijacking the thread, I just thought it might humanize the forum a little. I think you can tell alot about a person by the four legged company they keep. If anybody alse would like to join in, please show us your pussy.
P.S. No need to tell me I'm a lousy photographer, that was just proven three times.
Not at all, that is a great idea actualy. Since I ahve only had Lance for two days, I dont have any fun names for him yet, but I think the "get off my face I am trying to sleep" would work pretty well. He does have one odd behavior, he like to head-butt you. He will come up like he wants to be pet, but then head-butt you to get your attention. Kind of funny, cept when you are sleeping.
Maybe if we can get enough people to play "show us your pussy", we can go on to a dog thread. Give Lance a headbutt for me. :wink2:
I'll second that! No cat now, but I have a dog.
I agree with hondaman, I also have no cat, although I've had many before...but I do have a dog.
Well i'll be the first to post my dog then...
Beauregard's going to be 11 in December. He still seems to think he's a puppy though and hasn't shown any real signs of ageing yet. Lessee.. his nicknames are, Bogus, fuzzbutt, fuzzbucket, goofus, and "the vaccuum-cleaner"
Here's my dog, his name's Barrie (Barr-ee) doesn't do much, just lies on
the couch, and eats his toys, along with the ocassional I think I'm going
to walk all over the keyboard while Chris is typing... and Hey there's
somebody outside, let's bark at the door for hours
No nicknames for him yet, other than "Tubby" "Idiot" "Oscar"
This is my girlfriend's cat Denver when he was a kitten. He's full grown
That is a messy kitchen! I am not fond of having cats on kitchen counters, so far Lance hasn't tried anything yet.
He goes where he wants to. Counters, desks, shelves, computers, etc...
Not while you're looking anyway. Give him time. When he starts, let me know. I'll tell you the sure fire way to stop it.
well, here's our cats and dog...
custard (my ex-wife was a strawberry shortcake fan-what can i say)
no other known aliases--- just a nice, friendly cat! sleeps on the foot of the bed between us...
mitchell (yes-named after the 1975 crime drama starring joe don baker! and spoofed by mst3k) aka "fatass", "foot warmer" and "purrmonster" just say his name and he starts purring, and he sleeps on my feet
sophie (my wife got her from a shelter when she was 1-1/2, so she kinda recued her) aka "little demon", "pure evil", and "she's not evil, she's just being mischevious" sleeps on my wife's side of the bed...
trinket- our purebred collie that we got from a breeder when she was 4. (i guess the guy that was breeding her was rather unpleasant) she's got a longass name, but we only use the "trinket" part of it... she hangs out in the corner of the living room all day, then when the lights go out, she stations herself in front of the bedroom door w/ a rawhide bone for "guard duty"
SO far thew spray bottle works well
LMAO, thats always fun to do :orglaugh:
