I'm pretty sure this thread has been started before but oh well,

I'm an Inventory Specialist, which basically means that I go to stores with some people, and count all of their products that are for sale...I get paid like 13/h because my parents own the business, but on an average week I get 5 hours, and usually I have to get up at 4:30a.m., and other times I'm home at 2:00a.m. I'm looking for a better job now...so if anybody's hiring :hi:

I don't believe you. Sorry, but I'm going to need some proof :ohcrap: .
------------------------------
I've gone through a variety jobs, but ironically, I'm at the lowest paying one yet. I work at Target's Food court right now, making 9.60/hour. When I turn 18, it's gonna be a mechanic apprentice for me, with an ASE certification in my pocket.

I currently work around 15 hours a week. Training owns my soul.

Surely even Ohio has minor work laws?

Jesus Christ! You must live in an insanely high cost of living are to be making 20/hour as an apprentice....

Agreed!!!

Personally, I'm only 16 and make a small amount of salary. $8/hour, 40 hours a week during the summer, only about 10 hours a week now. I work in a research institute however, so I'm hoping it'd be beneficial on a college transcript too.

Im an intern at General Electric. Work 40 hours @ $14/hour + OT @$21-28/hour. The pay goes up as i take more classes in school.

I've always worked independently. Never for a business. I built computer through most of H/S and got my name around just by word of mouth. Made quite some money off of that. I also helped out my friend's mother a lot with landscaping golf tourney's ($20/hr). I worked as an installer on the side for Innovate Sounds (local place) and did installs @ $25/hr labor (cheap compared to most other places).

Now a full time student at LSU, so I haven't really worked that much since I started college. Just do some audio work here and there.

I live in Maryland now... and yes they do but the restaurant I work at does not really care about that... no joke, if I wanted to be working 6 days a week they'd let me. I get my paycheck today, I get paid every week. If I get my laptop back today i will take a pic of the paystub

I quit my job as a apprentice for a construction company a couple weeks ago, I was making $10hr there. I start my new job at the post office in a feww days. A friend got me in as a casual clerk, I get paid and hour less but at least i'm in the system now. As soon as I take the test and become a ptf i'll be getting 17.50 an hour and kick ass benifets.

posted by  The_Dude

Not everything's that easy, I know a guy who is 40 and working at the post office but he said he doesn't know exactly how they are advertising that but almost none really starts out at that, I could be wrong but the guy I know has been working there for most of his life and knows his stuff- remember there is a catch to everything.

posted by  Pythias

"ASE certification in your pocket" you need two years experience for those to actually kick in, so you might have passed the test but you're not considered certified

I'm not working now, but over the summer i worked at Hoffman Car Wash, in my town. it paid $7 an hour plus tips, which would equal out to roughly $9 an hour. it wasn't too bad a job...i dried cars at first, then moved on to drive-out (driving the cars from the end of the track to the lanes). all because I could drive stick and had my license.

I think I might be a candidate for person with the shittiest job. I scoop dog crap at a local kennel for $8.75/hr. Every once in a while I get to walk dogs, which pays $1.25/dog. 10 dogs per hour=$12.50. Only a few hours during the school year, pretty much full time in the summer.

I am a Retention rep at AOL, making 10/hour plus AMAZING bonuses, I usually pull down around 2500/mo getting paid to sit on my ass and talk to stupid people on the phones in a comfortable chair and surf the internet all day. I like my job, plus Im good at it. Gotta love it.

Will AOL bill you for months you didnt use AOL?

posted by  SyntheticTrust

AOL is a membership based service, meaning, you pay to be a member for the month, and wether or not you use it is up to you. Kinda like a gym.

So yes we will.

But, if you are reffering to the hurricance katrina situation and your inability to use it, Then simply call in to the cancellation department of AOL, let them know you were in katrina and cant use the service and we will help you out w/ your bill for a while.

posted by  Zalight

Yeah they gave me the month of September a credit, but I was also out for almost all of October as well.

posted by  SyntheticTrust

When is your billing date?

posted by  Zalight

Unless I pass the test and I get a student ASE certification. I then have to work in the field somewhere in the next two years, and get those 2 years W2 forms to permanate my certification. I shoulda been more clear. I'll have a student ASE certification in Engine Repair in my pocket.

Nobody's doubting you bro, relax.

Don't those hours kill you during school? The do to me.....But then again, training owns my soul.

posted by  Godlaus

K, just making sure cause I do take great offense when someone calls me a liar, be it online or not. And YES those hours did kill me lol 13 hours the one day is what did me in. Had 2 blood blisters but I'm ok today so back to work tomorrow, the weeks are usualyl easy-going but the weekends which I usually work, 4 days in a row are harsh lol. And I see what your saying about training, and eventhough I am just a busboy I am still learning alot from this job just about jobs in general.

The only person calling anyone a liar, is me calling 99integra out. That's it.

And sorry 99, but don't you think you should get a job the way everyone else does?
