:ohcrap: ...Typical Fast and Furious movie, illegal street racing, the racer falls in love with the girl, and rice lol...What confuses me is how they said "On the other side of the world, a new style of racing rules the Tokyo underground"...Drifting's been around for 20-30 years, and is pretty big here too

It would be a bit more enjoyable if you knew that there wouldn't be all these people making their cars in "drifters" lol...

Drifting is not as big as you think. It's actually quite small. This dumb movie is going to make drifting mainstream and cause prices (of 240SX, RX7, and anything else widely used in Japan for drifting )to skyrocket. Thus making it for someone like me, who's been into drifting since High School, harder to afford such vehicles. Look what happened to the prices of Supra's, 3rd Gen RX7's, and Eclipses, after F&F.

And as far as "new style of racing", they ,mean for us across the pond. It's new to us.

Oh BTW, I found this link much better Trailer ( 300)

I love it.

Course, all the technical details will be blown to hell (A mustang drifting? Possible, but not practical).

A visual feat worth paying for. I'm going in the opening week. Anybody else?

mmm miniskirts:drool:

As for the Mustang I think it has a RB26 engine in it.

Yeah seen the trailer last night and it just doesn't fit me. I mean come on this guy has a southern accent and was in movies such as slingblade and friday night lights. And whats with all the F&F movies having to have crappy rappers?

posted by  Spanky2324

"Crappy rapper" is a redundant term. :wink2:

I know it may be a little disappointing but, who won the 2005 D1 Grand Prix best of the best this year? Oh yeah, it was the Vaughn Gittin Jr. in the Falken Mustang. ll_stars_20051217/aag.sized.jpg

Anyone know how to take frames from a movie and save them as jpegs???

How about making a gif (moving pic) from movies?

posted by  GreekWarrior

I know how to take a clip and turn it into a .gif, but only from Adobe Premiere Pro:

1.) Import the movie
2.) Drag it into the timeline
3.) File>Export>Movie>Settings>Filetype>...
If you go to "animated gif" it automatically makes it into a moving gif, but it will result in this:

or you can go to Compuserve Gif, and it breaks it down into the frames, and then through ImageReady, you can do this:

It takes longer, but the image is smoother, and there is no black border :2cents:

So you do this in ImageReady or do you need Adobe Premiere Pro?

posted by  GreekWarrior

For that one I first exported the frames in Premier, and opened them in ImageReady.

I was actually pretty close to making a thread on this because I saw the trailer in movies for the first time yesterday. Good thing I noticed this.

Anyway, I will definetely see it once it comes out because I love cars, no matter what. But some of that stuff seems a bit too much. I don't think it'll even match 2F2F and that wasn't exactly the hottest movie ever. The cars seem a bit too overdone. Slapping a fancy paintjob makes it look rice, but what they did in that movie makes it seems like it's a rice competition altogether. Besides, I'm not sure about the entire "drifting" direction.

PS: That part where the guy drifts down a skylot that even freaking possible?

You should know a thing or 2 about drifting...remember going to the poolhall last night? "this is for you alex" idiot pulls the e-brake on a slanting turn, doenst let it go, goesnt turn the wheel the other way, doesnt add gas, but just skids to a stop...and then to top it off after he stopped he presses the gas and drives onto the curb lol....thats what happens when you try to be like the pro

posted by  newyorker

First, you made it sound super gay...
Second of all, your point? I f'ed up a drifting turn, screwed up, and with no one around for a mile just comfortably drove back onto the lot. Don't get me started on your driving history. Now, back to the topic at hand.

Import movie as in an mpeg right??? How about a DVD???
I think this deserves it's own thread.

Noone around? Steve was 200 feet behind you when you spun it right or dont do it at get within inches of totaling your car at least 1 of 3 times when you take out somewhere....its one thing to drive like a moron, but with people in your car is different....i sometimes drive crazy when im alone, but when I have passangers, I never risk hurting them and the way everyone knows my driving history here
