You know you're a 90's kid if...

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tu Pac, River Pheonix, and Selena died.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

you danced to "wannabe" by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green* Ranger were meant to be together.

*later to be white

"I've fallen and I can't get up"

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

Two words... Trapper Keeper.

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down

"Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back" SHE ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE ELEPHANTS PHANTS PHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

Yikes pencils and erasers were the shit.

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You remember when the new Beanie Babies were always sold out.

You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You thought Brain would finally take over the world

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

Does it count if I was born in 1990? lol...Actually most of those things I do remember/have done...Sadly I still know the macarena by heart

Don't take this personally, but... Why is it so popular on this forum to post lists of this nature, especially with one individual from Down Under, that have been around forever or at least before? Just wondering.

I suppose to share with those who haven't seen them before. I ran into this one and thought it was funny. I guess it is similar to those e-mails you get from your friends that recirculate over and over again. Everyone should reminisce once in a while.

Okay, so what if you were born in the fifties, but still remember or have experienced about 30% of the stuff on the list?

posted by  vwhobo

Then you have a good memory for being so old.

HEY, I was a 90's kid and I remember all that stuff. When is VH1 gonna air the I love the 90's???

They already have chango...

Oh and BTW:

Now this is the story all about how My life got twist turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air

In West Philadelfia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys that were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said "you're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air"

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way
She gave me a kiss and she gave me my ticket
I put my walkman on and said I might as well kick it

First class,yo this is bad,
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of Bel-Air livin' like,
Hmm this might be alright!

But wait I hear the pricey booze, wine all that
Is Bel-Air the type of place they send this cool cat?
I don't think so I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air

Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop and yelled my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightening, disappeared

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
the License plate said "Fresh" and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought "Ah forget it, yo homes to Bel-Air!"

I pulled up to the curb about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby "Yo, homes smell you later"
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-Air

and i think i still have my pog's somewhere...

and hey... that dumb blonde would have gone perfect with the racist "white power" ranger.

Don't know where you got this version. All the lyrics in bold aren't in the theme song I know. Also, I think in the first line "twist" is supposed to be "flipped", but not sure. "Curb" is supposed to be "house" too. Anyways, old ladies know the theme song too now, because it's on Nick @ Nite all the time.

To kids born in the 50s, 60s, 70s

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.

Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.

We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because...... WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.

We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal compute! rs, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD ! FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!

The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

Its funny that you posted that, because the 90's already feels like "those were the days". I was age 6-16 during the 90's so its basically most of my growing up.

On my favorite local radio station 99.3 The Fox (its a rock/alt station) they have the "90's at Noon". They only play 90's alternative, and have 90's trivia and question of the day etc. Its my favortie time of the day
