so guys? what ya think?
The whole damn thing is electronic: drive-by-wire controls both steering and braking, 'active body control' (ABC) and 'active hydropneumatic suspension' (AHP) govern lean/pitch, 'electronic stability program' maintains traction. Most importantly, the F400 has 'active camber control' which as you can see in some of the photos, actually tilt the camber up to 20 degrees during turns so that the wheels and tires take away the pressure from the body, which in turn remains flat. Of course, regular tires would be useless at 20 degrees of negative camber, so specialty versions were concocted by DiamlerChrysler and Pirelli. The engine of choice is a 3.2L V-6 (where they got the number 400, I have no idea) with a sequentronic transmission with wheel mounted shifters.
What is the end result? 1.28G of lateral force.
Now that is a intresting car!
The only thing missing is BATMAN :D :D
However it only has 218hp I think. Only good enough for 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. It wouldn't hurt to have 300hp. The car looks gorgeous in my mind.
I don't think Mercedes cared much to make the F400 a power demon, which is probably why it doesn't have tremendous straight-line performance. After all, it is a suspension engineering exercise right?
thats tight, the controls look pretty confusing though
Ugly as my sphincter.
Looks like a direct Hot Wheels concept to reality car.
yeah BW....i never liked that. of course, my guess is they did not really pay too much attention to the design....they were thinking about that "carving" aspect, which still hasnt been introduced on a production car.
Im liking the people dressed in the "futuristic" clothing.
That looks more like a Lotus than a Merc! :(
shoot, id take it
Nah,I people can say what they want,I'm in love with it. 8O 8)
