ok, so the first day of the iphone. and about half way through the day,
overtime goes out to those who use to work in the billing department. i
happen to fall in that catagory. so i left the data support building that i
work at, and went down to our billing/voice support building. well, as i
figured, the worst idea ever, also known as the iphone. turn out to be a
blast. i got to tell the customers who purchaced the device that they now
get to lose any discounts from there work, have to start an all new 2 year
contract, and if after buying the fone and learning that it doesnt get
activated at the store. that they have to activate it online. funny, cuz
still, a lot of people dont own a computer, nor have internet (many people
still dont for some reason or another) just to activate the thing. also,
they have to have a card with the visa/mastercard logo on it, sorry to all
the discover, and other card holders... SOL... also, a little fun fact. the
whole visual voicemail thing that is on the iphone, yeah theres an outage
in the network for it, and it wont work for about 24-48 hours...
and tomarrow i get to do it all over again... and it will be way worse, because its the weekend. and with weekend comes the fact that consumer care is closed earlier, and "business care" they devision that will be working will take all the calls, oh! and its the weekend, so wayyy more people are gunna call cuz they dont work. shibby. all i know, is that when i go back to working on the business data side, i dont have to support anything! YES!!! score for dino. anyways. did anyone get the fone?
i guess techincally its a good fone for your everyday person, but since i work on the business side of thing, its a piece. just because its not made for business yet, business people are buying it. anywho... thought id explain my day at work and how rediculous everything was. but how fun it was subliminally telling everyone i talked to that they werestupid lol...
BTW, everyone at the billing department was panicing, so it made it even better
any opinions? like it? love it? hate it? upset with my point of view? discuss. afterall, it is a hot topic
meh, it will be old technology in 6-12 months.
I'm waiting for samsung and nokia's answer to the iphone.
im not a big fan of either of those. HTC has a couple pretty cool fones that a fairly competitive with it.
Don't get me started on the iPhone. I really liek some aspects a lot,
others make me shake my head.
My one question is how many times have you dropped your phone? Yeah this one has a big glass screen... sounds like fun.
I hope the phones does well, I was a good move for apple not to have it ready for G3 network. It would only make more problems for them right now.
I'm not a big phone person, but to me it seems like a lot of hype. It doesn't seem like apple really invented anything, just took an existing product, made it a little better, and marketed the hell out of it. It somehow worked for the Ipod/Itunes, so I'm assuming it will work here as well. I will say that it looks cool (the flipping through the cd covers on srcreen type stuff). I won't get one when I can get a camera phone with enough minutes for a year for me (I don't use it much, 500 minutes a year will do) for a little over $100.
worse, its a little more fradgile and softer than glass
Cant watch this at work, you want to summarize for me?
Basically it's a video of this guy from pc world testing the endurance of the iphone by putting it through tests such as, putting it in a bag with keys and shaking it around, scratching the screen with the keys, dropping the phone on different surfaces like carpet and concrete. It passed with flying colours i might add.
Where's the "Get pissed and throw it against a wall" test?:banghead:
