Ricer Flyby

Home  \  Off Topic  \  Ricer Flyby

Ricer Fly-By -- (Ri-ser fli bi) An action undertaken by a person fitting any or all of the genuinely accepted criteria of a "ricer" in which he or she accelerates a slow and underpowered motor vehicle, which is usually adorned with large spoilers, bright paint colors/graphics and neon lights, past another vehicle which is known or thought to be faster or more powerful with the intention of overtaking said vehicle at as high a speed differentiation as possible.

The act is typically used in lieu of a genuine speeding contest in which the "ricer" does not perceive any chance of succeeding and instead uses the action as a fabricated victory. The second vehicle is typically piloted by a driver who is unaware of any automotive competition beforehand, is likely driving in high-gear at low RPM and may or may not be adjusting the vehicle's stereo and/or scratching their genitals at the time.

The actual act of acceleration is usually very brief and surprisingly unimpressive and is usually accompanied by a very loud and irritating buzzing noise from the exhaust and/or the activation of the "ricer's" 4-way hazard indicators, which are used to communicate the bitch-slapping to the second vehicle.

In most cases, the "ricer" will later engage in spontaneous and excessive masterbation while vividly recalling his actions at which time the second driver will typically be having sexual intercourse with the "ricer's" girlfriend, wife, sister, daughter, mother or any combination of the above.

posted by  newyorker

You keep setting yourself up. They were making fun of you. They weren't calling your Civic the "more powerful" car that denies a flyby...

i know what they were saying

1 question.. wtf is the point of this thread?

Doesn't sound like it.

I was making fun of you, I only do that when you say something retarded.

I actually really enjoy denying flybys in MY car.

I had 3 fly-bys in a row friday night when in the Monte.. first was a green Cavalier, followed by a white Prelude and a red Del Sol. It was quite funny really lol, I had never experienced that before.

Ive got a vid somewhere of my buddy trying a flyby on me in a bolt on scion tC.

We were on the way to the shop to get the trubo kit and it was a before/after thing, pretty funny vid, If i can find it.

Well there's your problem. Unless you're already in your cave, in which cave there's no point in waiting anymore.

I know you'd love that, but I just don't go that way.

posted by  jedimario

NY'er, after quick pondering, you get owned in just about every single thread here. I might not know that much about cars, but I do know that that means something...

posted by  Nissan_Altima

Dude you arent even useful here...I dont see your position to "own" anyone....even after I sent someone your way because they had an issue similar to yours and I thought you would help them, you knew nothing, so it shows that you dont just know nothing, but dont care to learn either...so why are you here?? To tell spammers to "get the **** out" even though they will never be back to see your post??

posted by  newyorker

While my knowledge of cars, or the lack thereof, renders me quite useless in giving advice on this forum, at least I have the overall knowledge, common sense, and intelligence to shut up or keep quiet when necessary.

I would rather know little and spend my time here learning slowly than have an ego larger than my future, lie about everything, and have the entire forum hate me. I average around .70 posts a day (I'm guessing) in over 2 years here, yet all of your posts are b/s, lies, and material to make yourself look dumber than anyone else here.

You should learn.

posted by  Nissan_Altima

Oh very good, I like that. Fact of the matter is, this is a car forum, either to get help about your car problems, or learn something. Your moms car isnt breaking anytime soon and is under warranty, and you dont seem to really be taking any information in from the site. If you want, here are a few good places to start if you decide to get into it more

www.google.com
www.howstuffworks.com

Or you can just stick to medical, cause cars arent your thing, and never were. Take my advice and keep your hands clean...or you can keep arguing with me about my posts and such, but the fact will remain that I have superior car knowledge than you, its just a fact and no ammount of insults can change that.

What have you learned here about cars so far?? Give me something

posted by  newyorker

That yours isn't very fast and the paintwork is dodgy?

posted by  Cliffy

it doesnt take 2 years of forum browsing to realize that my car is slow...what do you mean paintwork is dodgy?

posted by  newyorker

I never said I came here to become a mechanic. Obviously I will stick to medicine and the scientists, my strong suit, and something that I am much better at than you are at being a mechanic. Apparently, I missed the memo that you have to pass regular "progress" tests to remain here. Obviously cars aren't my thing. That's why I won't be a mechanic.

Anyway, I'm done typing this stupid thing. Your comebacks, like I said in the other thread, are all the exact same thing. I hope knowing how to change your own oil will get you far in life because outside that...

He means it looks like a**.

posted by  Nissan_Altima

LOL you are pathetic. I am in the top of my class and will be making enough money to live a VERY comfortable lifestyle. If you ever get past yourself, you may do the same. And no, you dont have to pass a test, but being somewhat intelligent in the automotive area certainly helps keep you looking like you have a clue. Take my advice, keep reading, arguing will teach you nothing new until you look back at it in a year and see how wrong you were.

posted by  newyorker

Was that directed at yourself??
Especially the bit about reading and not arguing ...

ooh, and I'm top of my class.... la-di-da .... maybe you need to get over YOURself... not him.

And, you need to START looking like you have a clue before you can keep that way.

Where did you come from? This is a discussion between me and Mike..keep your nose out of it

posted by  newyorker

Why would you have a "discussion" which only you and Nissan_Altima can partake in, in a public forum. You want a private discussion, I'm sure both of you have AIM, or if not that, then private messages.

posted by  chris_knows

If you stopped making stupid posts, people would stop feeling the urge to reply to you pointing out said stupidity.

posted by  windsonian

If you want to really stand out, be the bigger man and shut the **** up  . Back to the original post

but then how would you learn? :wink2:

You want something done? Initiate it...why do I have to explain this to you if im apparently stupid and you are smart. Ugh just leave it be

posted by  newyorker

If I want what done? I don't remember saying I wanted something done..... I was just responding to another stupid post of yours.

What did I want done again? I suggested that you stop making stupid posts .... but I'm not naive enough to expect that you actually will. So rather than "wanting it done", I'll just keep on replying ... open forum remember :wink2:

Top of your class in what? You go to a community college...

posted by  Nissan_Altima

NewYorker, please, do yourself a favor. Look at your posts in this thread with a cool head, and try to tell me that you sound educated at all. Or try to tell me that you sound like a mature adult. In the online forums your respect is based on how you conduct yourself, not your merits. If you act like an eight year old, expect to get trounced on day-to-day.

Before you tell me to mind my own business, let me ask you: why did you tell somebody to butt out? As Chris said, this is a public forum. The only reasons I can think of for posting on a public forum are to hear what others have to say, or to be an attention whore who just wants people to see them. Or maybe, in some cases, an attempt at forcing somebody into a reality check.

Once again, a misconception from your limited brain. Business if you must know, and just because you go to UPenn doesnt mean that people in other school are retarded. We have people that are a lot smarter than you

posted by  newyorker

Whats you focus in business.
I cant decide which way to go but I have another semester before I can declare my main business major.
Im thinkin accounting.

posted by  Enthusiast

Ok I'm not much into business aside from reading the section in the paper and knowing this and that but my chick is majoring in business and from what I've seen from her and other class members in accounting IT SUCKS. If your good at it go for it though because theres good money there. Just though I'd share the opinions of others at her college.

posted by  Spanky2324

Well I am in Finance, but at my school it falls under business. Apparently according to our teachers and online stuff, there is a large nad growing need for Financially specialized people. I am going to be a Financial Specialist, but basically the whole field is booming. Do some research on it, talk to an advisor, etc.

posted by  newyorker

Ive talked to an advisor, didnt help but I like stuff like accounting and Im REALLY good at math.

Ive been to my Math class 4 times this semester. first day of class and 3 test days.

I have missed 4 questions on all the tests combined. I wish I was smart enough to be able to do that in all my classes:ohcrap:
