$80.00 Ebay Scam

Home  \  Off Topic  \  $80.00 Ebay Scam

OKay guys and girls. I have a problem.

I found a classified ad about 4 weeks ago for a person who wanted someone to sell their car for them on ebay. I responded, and proceeded to list this person's car for them, requiring $80.00 in Ebay fees. I was assured I would be refunded the $80.00 for fees and earn 10% of the end final price. The car sold last tuesday, and since, the car owner has disappeared. I have only his AOL Screen name, Email address, and phone number.

It was dumb of me to go into this, i know, but I need to know if anybody knows how to find out a person's address JUST by knowing their AOL screen name or Phone Number. I am down 80 hard earned dollars.

Thanks guys/girls.

Damn, that sucks. :ohcrap:

I don't know how you could find him but if you do I suggest castration. Then beat your 80 bucks out of him with his own dismembersd genitals.

Or just report him to the police. You know, if you're not intrested in my first suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion about the Police. I don't know how law enforcement deals with email agreements. the thing i've got going for me is that he's using an AOL screen name, so a credit card or valid form of identification is available somewhere.

screen name: camrybuyer

if anyone has AOL, can you check that profile for me? or see what other screen names are on that master account if that can be done?

or if you have access to the records, his address and house phone number? thanks everyone.

Sorry, AOL says there is no account by that name.

umm...with a phone number (with area code) you can do a reverse look up on www.anywho.com and youll most likely get a full address. hope it helps!

Phone Number: (310) 497 6546

I just talked with the ebay auction winner and he suggested that when/if i go to the police, that I include the VIN number of the car.

VIN #: 10704412036077

the name on the answering machine says "hi you've reached the phone of FRED STAPELER" or fred steppler something like that. If anyone can still help that would be great.

You really should talk to the police. Even if you found out where this person lives, what would you do? Nothing good can come out of your current search, please let the authorities handle it from here on out.

(Now, if they all point and laugh at you and go back to eating their donuts, THEN you can certainly begin to get a little more desperate :wink2: )
